Application tune manifests and tune state recovery
In accordance with one or more aspects, a request to run an application is received. The application has an associated tune manifest that identifies one or more resources that the application may use. The tune manifest is compared to a device resource record, and a check is made, based at least in part on the comparing, whether the one or more resources identified in the tune manifest can be satisfied by the device. If the one or more resources identified in the tune manifest can be satisfied by the device, then the application is run; otherwise, a notification of a conflict between the application and the device is presented. Additionally, when the application exits, a device tune state that identifies a content source to which the device was tuned prior to running the application can be retrieved and the device restored to this device tune state.
LIVE DATA BROADCAST METHOD AND APPARATUS
A live data broadcast method is performed at a computer server that is communicatively coupled to a first terminal and a second terminal. The method includes: detecting, during live broadcast of content of a first application running in a foreground of the first terminal to the second terminal, that the first terminal switches the first application to run in a background of the second terminal; obtaining predetermined multimedia content associated with the live broadcast; sending instructions to the second terminal to play the predetermined multimedia content on the second terminal, the predetermined multimedia content being different from content of a second application running in the foreground; and communicating status updates related to the live broadcast with the first terminal and the second terminal, respectively.
Providing Supplemental Content For A Second Screen Experience
Computing devices, computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions, methods, and systems for discovering, organizing, and presenting supplemental content are disclosed. A discovery system may be used to discover an item, such as a supplemental content presentation application, which, when launched may present supplemental content to a user while the user is consuming primary content. The supplemental content presentation application may also present a timeline that users may interact with to view different portions of the supplemental content. The timeline may also be modified by adding markers along the timeline so that when a marker is selected, a particular piece of supplemental content is presented.
IDENTIFYING APPLICATIONS ON WHICH CONTENT IS AVAILABLE
In some embodiments, an electronic device receives an input corresponding to a request for information about a user-specified topic. In response, the electronic device displays information about media that is relevant to the user-specified topic, including concurrently displaying: a representation of respective media that is available for viewing on a first set of applications, the electronic device having a second set of applications downloaded on it, and a respective selectable user interface element associated with the respective media. In some embodiments, if the second set of applications includes at least one application in the first set of applications, the respective selectable user interface element is selectable to initiate a process for launching a respective application of the first set of applications.
RECORDING AND BROADCASTING APPLICATION VISUAL OUTPUT
The present disclosure generally relates to sharing application visual output. In some examples, a user of a first electronic device selects a second electronic device with which to share visual out data of an application task. In some examples, a user selects a broadcast application from one or more broadcast applications identified by the electronic device for broadcasting the visual output of an application task.
Information processing apparatus, mobile terminal, information processing method, program, and information processing system
The present technology relates to an information processing apparatus, mobile terminal, information processing method, program, and information processing system that can make it possible to easily link information output by a certain device to information output by another device. An information processing apparatus according to one aspect of the present technology includes: a reception control unit for allowing receiving a content containing first address information specifying a source of provision of first information being information related to the content; an output control unit for allowing outputting the content; an acquisition unit for acquiring the first information from a server acting as the source of the provision of the first information based on the first address information; and a provision unit for providing, to a mobile terminal, second address information included in the first information, the second address information specifying a source of provision of second information being mobile terminal-specific information related to the content. The present technology can be applied to a device including a display.
User interfaces for interacting with channels that provide content that plays in a media browsing application
In some embodiments, an electronic device presents a plurality of representations of content items that are available on a respective channel in response to successfully subscribing the respective channel. In some embodiments, an electronic device plays content that is provided by a channel in a unified media browsing application. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents information about subscribing to a channel based on content consumption activity of the user on the electronic device in accordance with some embodiments of the disclosure.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, PROCESSORS AND COMPUTER CODE FOR PROVIDING VIDEO CLIPS
A computer-implemented method/system of providing video clip playback, including: (i) receiving a video feed; (ii) converting the video feed into a compressed format structure; (iii) uploading the compressed format structure to a first server; (iv) receiving an electronic edit decision list defining how to manipulate the compressed format structure; (v) saving the electronic edit decision list to a server; (vi) receiving a request to provide to a user terminal a video clip playback corresponding to a video clip defined by the compressed format structure and the electronic edit decision list; (vii) sending to the user code executable to provide the video clip defined by the compressed format structure and the electronic edit decision list, and (viii) responding to requests from the code when executed, to provide content corresponding to the compressed format structure stored, in accordance with the electronic edit decision list, to provide the decision list video clip playback.
Virtual Reality 360-Degree Video Camera System for Live Streaming
The present disclosure relates to imaging systems and methods that include a plurality of cameras configured to capture video image data based on respective fields of view of an environment. Each camera of the plurality of cameras is communicatively coupled to neighbor cameras of the plurality of cameras via a communication interface. Each camera may carry out operations include capturing video image data of the respective field of view and determining an overlay region. The overlay region includes an overlapping portion of video image data captured by the respective camera and at least one of the neighbor cameras. The operations also include cropping and warping the captured video image data of the respective field of view based on the overlay region to form respective processed video image data. The processed video image data may be uploaded to a cloud server and provided, via multiple trunk links, to a client device.
ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE DISPLAYING RELEVANT FIELD BASED ON TIME OF DAY
A method for programming an electronic program guide (EPG) grid guide is disclosed herein. The method includes determining EPG metadata from a database, sorting metadata based on a time and a metadata field, determining the metadata field to be displayed, and rendering the EPG grid guide based on the time and the metadata field. A method for programming a set top box (STB) is also disclosed herein. The method includes providing a time of day, receiving a user's viewing preferences, adjusting information based on the user's viewing preferences in at least one application, wherein the user's viewing preferences are a function of the time of day, and transmitting the adjusted information to a display device.
