Cooking apparatus configured as a grill-griddle having a body, a lid, a cooking grate, and a griddle are described. The grill-griddle may be arranged to have a combustion space within the body and an aperture in the cooking enclosure of the grill-griddle. The aperture may be on the side of the grill-griddle and allow one or more of the grill grate and the griddle to move in and out of the cooking enclosure. The grill-griddle configuration allows for the grill grate, the griddle, or both to move laterally through such transitions enabling enhanced control and flexibility in the cooking process.

MODULAR COOKING APPLIANCE

A modular cooking appliance for cooking a variety of foods has interchangeable tops and a base to receive the tops. The base has a burner that is fed from a fuel supply and controlled by a valve. The interchangeable tops mate to an open top. One of the interchangeable tops is a grill grate that fits in the open top. Another interchangeable top is a griddle with a flat cooking surface. The griddle mates to the open top and is kept spaced from the base to allow exhaust gases to escape. Another interchangeable top is a pizza oven with a stone portion and a dome portion. The stone portion directs exhaust gases from the burner into the dome portion.

An outdoor grill has a processor and remote-controlled valves (electronic or digital) whereby the processor directs gas flow to at least one burner below a grate. Sensors can be utilized to maintain temperature at the grate. A meat probe can be used to provide input to the processor to reduce temperature upon reaching a predetermined value. The processor may wirelessly communicate with a portable computing device for remote control or monitoring of status.

Grill and side cart attachment systems and methods

Embodiments herein relate to grill systems. In an embodiment, a grill system is included. The grill system having a grill assembly and a first side assembly. The grill assembly can include a grill cart and a burner box configured to couple to a top portion of the grill cart. The burner box can include a first connection structure. The first side assembly that can include a first side cart and a first top cap configured to couple to a top portion of the first side cart. The first top cap can include a second connection structure. The first connection structure and the second connection structure mate together to couple the grill assembly to the first side assembly. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Methods and apparatus to indicate presence of a flame are disclosed. An example gas grill includes a burner tube having apertures to emit a fuel for combustion, an ignition element to cause ignition of the fuel emitted from the apertures of the burner tube, a flame sensor to detect the presence of a flame associated with the combustion of the fuel emitted from the apertures of the burner tube, and flame sense circuitry including a flame signal accessor to access a flame sense signal from the flame sensor, and a terminal to output an indication of the presence of the flame, the indication of the presence of the flame output without respect to an open or closed state of a lid of the grill.

A heat resistant docking plate that is configured to be attached to a vehicle tailgate, and allows the user to nest, lock and carry the grill in the back of the pickup bed. The grill includes a lid, a grate, burners, and burner covers which may be locked for transport to reduce rattle, and burners which are secured to the grill body. A double wall with stainless steel interior and aluminum exterior is provided to permit the grill to get hotter on the inside without dissipating as much heat. A removable drip pan with a large reservoir is provided in order to contain drippings during device transport.

A method for controlling an oven that incudes selecting a function of the oven using an actuator located in or on a control panel of the oven to cause an electrical signal to be generated that identifies a function of the oven. In response to the electrical signal being generated, energizing an electrical motor that is mechanically coupled to a rotary position switch and not mechanically coupled to the actuator. The method including rotating the rotary position switch to a position corresponding to the function of the oven by use of the electric motor after the electrical signal is generated.

Disclosed is a BBQ Grill comprising two lower side panels, two upper side panels that are slideably received in the lower side panels. Crossbraces space the panels apart and a grill plate is adapted to detachably engage hooks on the upper side panels. The grill has legs that extend and retract associated with the lower side panels and the upper side panels have a handle assembly with a button to set pawls of a latch plate at selected apertures associated with the lower side panel. Various accessories are disclosed. The grill can be used with wood, charcoal briquettes or a gas burner.

A smoker apparatus is disclosed that provides a smoker cabinet having upper and lower end portions. The cabinet has a top, a bottom and a side wall or walls and an interior. The cabinet includes a plurality of vertically spaced apart shelves mounted within the cabinet interior. A cabinet door that enables access to the shelves. A gaseous fuel supplied burner element is positioned next to the lower end portion of the cabinet, the burner element being removably connectable to a source of gaseous fuel. A pair of containers is mounted within the cabinet below the shelves and above the burner element. One of the containers is preferably a water container for containing water. The other of the containers being a wood chips container for containing wood chips, wherein the wood chips container is positioned in between the water container and the burner element. A slide bracket supports the containers, the slide bracket positioned generally in between the burner element and the shelves. An access door is provided that is much smaller than the cabinet door, the access door extending vertically a distance at least spanning the vertical dimension of the containers. Either container can be removed laterally from the cabinet at least a partial distance by sliding it laterally upon the slide bracket and at least partially through the access door.

Griddle

A griddle having a grease management system and independent cooking zones is disclosed. The griddle may have a cooking surface back wall with an opening provided therein for grease removal. A grease drip flange may extend away from the cooking surface at a downward angle at or near the back wall opening. A removable grease receptacle having a pivotable handle, as well as a squeegee element, may be provided below the grease drip flange. The independent cooking zones may be provided by burner assemblies having front and rear burners that provide different levels of heat using a single dual gas control valve.
