Cinematic mastering for virtual reality and augmented reality
An entertainment system provides data to a common screen (e.g., cinema screen) and personal immersive reality devices. For example, a cinematic data distribution server communicates with multiple immersive output devices each configured for providing immersive output (e.g., a virtual reality output) based on a data signal. Each of the multiple immersive output devices is present within eyesight of a common display screen. The server configures the data signal based on digital cinematic master data that includes immersive reality data. The server transmits the data signal to the multiple immersive output devices contemporaneously with each other, and optionally contemporaneously with providing a coordinated audio-video signal for output via the common display screen and shared audio system.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ENABLING COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN DEVICES
Methods and systems for selecting and delivering content are provided. More particularly, content can be delivered to an output device from a user device through a device adaptor, such as an over-the-top (OTT) device. The OTT device or devices available to the user device are determined by a communication server. In particular, the OTT device or devices available to the user device are limited to those OTT devices associated with an output device in the user's room, or that the user is otherwise authorized to access.
Systems and methods for controlling device configuration in a networked environment
A system and method uses a first device fingerprint for a set-top box (STB) installed within a home theater environment which includes an over-the-top (OTT) device to cause a one a plurality of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) remote control setup procedures to be selected for use to configure an OEM remote control for the STB and the selected one of the plurality of OEM remote control setup procedures uses a second device fingerprint for the OTT device to cause the OEM remote control to be configured to transmit one or more commands to control functional operations of the OTT device.
METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES THAT ENABLE USER OF MOBILE PHONE TO AT LEAST PARTIALLY TAKE CONTROL OF CONSUMER ELECTRONIC DEVICE ON DISPLAY
Described herein are methods, systems, and devices for enabling a user of a mobile phone to at least partially take control of a consumer electronic device on display in a retail store. A session with the mobile phone is initiated in response to the mobile phone being used to scan a scannable code displayed on a display screen in the retail store, wherein the session is associated with the consumer electronic device. A graphical user interface (GUI), which is displayed on the mobile phone during the session, enables the user of the mobile phone to use the mobile phone during the session to at least partially take control of the consumer electronic device that is on display in the retail store, thereby enabling the user of the mobile phone to learn about one or more capabilities of the consumer electronic device that is on display in the retail store.
METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES THAT ENABLE A USER OF A MOBILE PHONE TO SELECT WHAT CONTENT IS DISPLAYED ON A SCREEN OF A CONSUMER ELECTRONIC DEVICE ON DISPLAY
Described herein are methods, systems, and devices for enabling a user of a mobile phone to use the mobile phone to select what content is displayed on a display screen of a consumer electronic device (e.g., a television) on display in a retail store. A scannable code (e.g., a QR code) is caused to be displayed on the display screen of the consumer electronic device, and a session with the mobile phone is established in response to the mobile phone being used to scan the scannable code that is displayed on the display screen of the consumer electronic device. A GUI, which is displayed on the mobile phone during the session, enables a user of the mobile phone to select, using the mobile phone, which one of a plurality of options is displayed on the display screen of the consumer electronic device that is on display in the retail store.
System for addressing on-demand TV program content on TV services platform of a digital TV services provider
Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.

METHOD AND DEVICE TO CREATE INTERACTIVITY BETWEEN A MAIN DEVICE AND AT LEAST ONE SECONDARY DEVICE
A method to create interactivity between a main device and a secondary device. The method comprises receiving a main stream comprising a signal indicating the availability of the ongoing interactive experience related to the audio/video content and extracting the interactive data from the main stream, obtaining a main interactive application related to the interactive data by the main device, obtaining a secondary interactive application related to the interactive data by the secondary device, loading the main interactive application into a software module of the main device, executing the main interactive application with all or part of the interactive data, collecting by the main interactive application of the main device, result of user's interactions made on the secondary device during execution of the secondary interactive application, processing the received user's interaction by the main interactive application to produce a result, displaying the result on the screen together with the audio/video content.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR TRANSITION-CODED MEDIA, MEASURING ENGAGEMENT OF TRANSITION-CODED MEDIA, AND DISTRIBUTION OF COMPONENTS OF TRANSITION-CODED MEDIA
Disclosed are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for transition-coded media, measuring engagement of transition-coded media, and distribution of components of transition-coded media. For instance, the method may include: obtaining a media file; determining whether the media file includes transition-coded media; in response to determining the media file includes the transition-coded media, setting up a dynamic media environment; detecting whether a user is interacting with the transition-coded media; and in response to detecting the user is interacting with the transition-coded media, executing the transition-coded media with the dynamic media environment.
