Authenticated communication between security devices
Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods establishing and maintaining trust between security devices for distributing media content are provided. Two security devices bind to establish an initial trust so that security information can be exchanged. Subsequently, trust is refreshed to verify the source of a message is valid. In an embodiment, the security devices may comprise a security processor and a system on a chip (SoC) in a downloadable conditional access system. Trust may be refreshed by a security device inserting authentication information in a message to another security device, where authentication information may assume different forms, including a digital signature (asymmetric key) or a hash message authentication code (HMAC). Trust may also be refreshed by extracting header information from the message, determining state information from at least one parameter contained in the header information, and acting on message content only when the state information is valid.
PERSONAL CONTENT SERVER APPARATUS AND METHODS
Personal content server apparatus and associated methods that allow a user (e.g., cable or satellite network subscriber) to access content, such as a video program, from a location outside the subscriber's network. In one embodiment, a personal content server streams the content to the subscriber over a network connection from the local e.g., (subscription) network to a remote network upon authorization by a content manager process. Various access, business or operational rules are applied depending on the content and delivery mode; e.g., to live video broadcast, video-on-demand (VOD), or archived content from the subscriber's digital video recorder (DVR) or networked PVR. Secondary content (e.g., promotions, advertisements, etc.) can also be selectively replaced if desired in order to make the remotely delivered content more appropriate to the remote user's context.
METHOD FOR RENDERING AUDIO-VIDEO CONTENT, DECODER FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS METHOD AND RENDERING DEVICE FOR RENDERING THIS AUDIO-VIDEO CONTENT
A decoder comprises an input interface for receiving audio-video content in a compressed form, an output interface for outputting said compressed audio-video content, at least one application frame relating to at least one application service, and control data, wherein the control data comprises identification data and implementation data, the identification data being used for identifying at least a part of the audio-video content and/or a part of the at least one application frame, and the implementation data defining the rendering of at least one of the audio-video content and the at least one application frame.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PLAYING VIDEO IN APPLICATION PROGRAM
The invention discloses a method and apparatus for playing a video in an application program, which relate to the field of video play technology. By judging whether a video page to be loaded in an application program belongs to a pre-cracked page library in which a correspondence relationship between video pages and video source addresses is stored, and employing a player embedded in the application program to play a video corresponding to the video source address when the video page to be loaded belongs to the pre-cracked page library, the invention thus achieves a unified play effect of video play and improves the user experience.
ADAPTIVE MEDIA STREAMING METHOD AND APPARATUS ACCORDING TO DECODING PERFORMANCE
A method and apparatus for streaming media without installing a plug-in in a web browser are provided. When a JavaScript decoder is used to stream media without installing a plug-in, it is difficult to support decoding of high framerate and high resolution video due to the limitations of JavaScript. When streaming media using a video element of HTML5 without installing a plug-in, a compatibility issue with a conventional video capturing apparatus using RTSP/RTP and an initial delay problem due to a container of MPEG-DASH are inherent. The present disclosure presents an adaptive media streaming method and apparatus capable of performing streaming of high framerate and high resolution video without an initial delay and compatibility issues by addressing these drawbacks.
Customizable media player framework
Disclosed are various embodiments for a media player customization application. A media player framework defines basic functionality to render media items. Plugins may be added to the media player framework to implement desired functionality. The plugin model allows for a media player to minimize file sizes by only included required functionality.
Information delivery system for generating a data stream with a server system based on a content file received from a client device
An information delivery system, an information delivery method, an information processing apparatus, and an information processing method is used advantageously to deliver content stream data easily, reliably and inexpensively to the general users. A personal computer prepares a content file and an order form file using software provided by a center system, and transmits the prepared files to the center system over the Internet. Given the order form file from a customer device, the center system encodes a content file accordingly to generate content stream data and causes a moving picture delivery server to deliver the generated stream data to user terminals. This invention can be applied, among others, to systems for delivering content data over the Internet.
Method and system for content delivery
A method and system for providing video content on a data network connected device having a display and a device display controller including a player. The method comprises the steps of a data network connected device, accesses a reference file including a plurality of player control parameter values and linking data for one or more content sources. Play control commands are provided to the player based on the play control parameter values. Content data is acquired by the player from one or more content sources via the data network using the linking data, and the content acquired from each source played on the display in accordance with the player control commands. The reference file may be a pre-existing reference file or a reference file created in response to a request to play the video content data. A reference file compiler is provided for generating the reference file.
System and method for using a set-top box application to diagnose customer premises equipment
A device having a test module configured to connect with a server through a cellular telephone network and a wireless area network. The test module is also configured to initiate, in the server, a diagnostic test of an interactive television network and a media processor. The test module is further configured to receive information indicating problems with the television network and the media processor, and to display the information on a display.
Downloadable security and protection methods and apparatus
Methods and apparatus for control of data and content protection mechanisms across a network using a download delivery paradigm. In one embodiment, conditional access (CA), digital rights management (DRM), and trusted domain (TD) security policies are delivered, configured and enforced with respect to consumer premises equipment (CPE) within a cable television network. A trusted domain is established within the user's premises within which content access, distribution, and reproduction can be controlled remotely by the network operator. The content may be distributed to secure or non-secure output domains consistent with the security policies enforced by secure CA, DRM, and TD clients running within the trusted domain. Legacy and retail CPE models are also supported. A network security architecture comprising an authentication proxy (AP), provisioning system (MPS), and conditional access system (CAS) is also disclosed, which can interface with a trusted authority (TA) for cryptographic element management and CPE/user device authentication.
