Systems and methods for a video sharing service within controlled environments
A system for a video sharing service for inmates in correctional facilities is disclosed. The system includes an inmate device of an inmate, a database storing inmate profiles, and a video sharing server configured to receive a registration request from the inmate device for registration of an inmate for the video sharing service, the registration request including user credentials of the inmate, retrieve an inmate profile of the inmate from the database, authenticate the inmate based on the user credentials and the inmate profile, create an account for the inmate for the video sharing service in response to authentication of the inmate, receive an upload request to upload a video from the inmate device, analyze the video for restricted content, and assign a rating to the video based on the analysis.
Systems and methods for calculating a predicted time when a user will be exposed to a spoiler of a media asset
Methods and systems are described herein for calculating a predicted time when a first user will be exposed to a spoiler of a first media asset. A media guidance application may retrieve an initial transmission time of the first media asset and a transmission time of a second media asset that precedes the transmission time of the first media asset. The media guidance application may retrieve electronic communications from a second user whose electronic communications the first user has viewed, and determine a subset of the electronic communications that correspond to the second media asset. The media guidance application may calculate a length of time from the transmission time of the second media asset to the earliest availability time of an electronic communication in the subset. The media guidance application may calculate the predicted time based on the transmission time of the first media asset and the length of time.
Method and system for the classification and categorization of video pathways in interactive videos
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, identify and classify the various video pathways in an interactive video based on the content of these video pathways. A video comprising multiple video segments is obtained from a video library. Each video segment is directly linked to at least one other video segment and the multiple video segments comprise a beginning segment, intermediate segments (including interactive segments), and final segments. Multiple video pathways in the video are identified. For each identified video pathway, classification data is generated and each such video pathway is then stored in the video library. When the video is selected from a particular category of the video library, the video segments of a video pathway that has a classification which is the same as the classification associated with the particular category, is then displayed.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOMMENDING CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Systems and methods are described herein for recommending content restrictions to a user based on chatter in a social network of the user. The system analyzes chatter in the social network to identify a correlation between what is posted by users and the content that the users are posting about. The system stores a mapping between chatter and expected attributes of the content referenced by the chatter. The system will determine whether to block the content when an expected attribute is associated with a content restriction.
Insertion of directed content into a video asset
Technologies are provided for insertion of directed content into video assets based on analysis of audio data corresponding to the video assets. Some embodiments include a computing system that can receive audio data corresponding to a video asset. The computing system can generate, using the audio data, a time series of tags corresponding to speech conveyed by the video asset. The computing system can then generate a time-asset mapping between time and directed content using the time series and a correlation policy. The directed content can include digital media intended for a defined audience, for example. The time-asset mapping associates groups of directed content assets to respective specific times in the time series. The computing system can insert, using the mapping, a defined directed content asset from a group of directed content assets identified in the mapping.
DIGITAL VIDEO ANALYSIS
This disclosure relates to digital video analysis. In one aspect, a method includes receiving data indicating one or more seed video groups that each include one or more seed videos. Data indicating one or more keywords is received. A set of candidate video groups that each include one or more candidate videos is identifier. For each candidate video group in the set of candidate video groups a co-interaction score and a topicality score are determined. A subset of the candidate videos groups is selected based on the co-interaction score and the topicality score of each candidate video group. Data indicating the subset of candidate video groups is provided for presentation.

Media sharing and communication system
A media sharing and communication system, including a recording mechanism that records a desired portion of media upon activation by a first individual user, a first user transmitter/receiver that transmits the portion of media and a message generated by the first individual user regarding the portion of media to a second individual user and is capable of transmitting a message to a second individual user, a confirmation mechanism that confirms that the second individual user is authorized to view the portion of media, a notification mechanism that notifies the first individual user if the second individual user is not authorized to receive the portion of media, a second user transmitter/receiver that receives the portion of media and voice message upon authorization of the second individual user, and a search mechanism for searching for media and products used in media. A method of sharing portions of media.
Systems and methods to generate metadata for content
Systems and methods are described herein for generating metadata for content. Upon detecting a request for a stored media asset from a first device, a server determines that metadata is needed for the media asset based on determining that (a) the server has access to insufficient metadata associated with the media asset and (b) the popularity of the media asset is sufficiently high. The server then assigns at least a time segment of the media asset to the first device for analysis. After assignment, the first device gathers frame analysis and user input data while the user is viewing the media asset, and transmits the gathered data to the server. The server then uses the frame analysis data and the user input data to generate metadata, and makes the generated metadata available to all devices requesting the media asset.
