Multi-layer video file format designs
A computing device generates a file that comprises a track box that contains metadata for a track in the file. Media data for the track comprises a sequence of samples, each of the samples being a video access unit of multi-layer video data. As part of generating the file, the computing device generates, in the file, a sub-sample information box that contains flags that specify a type of sub-sample information given in the sub-sample information box. When the flags have a particular value, a sub-sample corresponding to the sub-sample information box contains exactly one coded picture and zero or more non-Video Coding Layer (VCL) Network Abstraction Layer (NAL) units associated with the coded picture.

Systems and methods for verifying an advertisement impression in a digital environment are provided. In some aspects, methods of the subject technology include operations for defining a portion of the digital environment as an impression area, wherein the impression area is associated with a tagged advertisement area, providing a stream of an advertisement to the tagged advertisement area, and updating advertising impression information stored in memory regarding the advertisement, wherein an advertising impression is based on the identification of the character within the impression area and the availability of an unobstructed line-of-sight between the character and the tagged advertisement area. In some aspects, computer readable media are also provided.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPLEMENTING A LOCKED MODE FOR VIEWING MEDIA ASSETS
Methods and systems that provide an interactive media guidance application having a locked mode for viewing media assets. In the locked mode, the interactive media guidance application may provide media assets suited to a certain audience. The interactive media guidance application may determine suitable media assets for the locked mode based on media assets viewed by other users having characteristics similar to the user of the interactive media guidance application. In the locked mode, the interactive media guidance application may allow access to only certain media assets and/or limit the time period for which the media assets are presented.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INTEGRATED MEDIA
Methods and system deliver media to users of media presentation systems. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a media server communicates with a media presentation system, such as a media player for streaming video and audio, to present subscription and non-subscription media to the user of the media presentation system. Subscription media may include multi-tiered media packages and individual media offerings as selected by the user. The media may be presented in various formats, including video, a graphical display, an audio presentation, a graphical and audio presentation, URL links, and interactive windows. Information about the user, the user's subscription status, the user's media presentation system and information about the media providers and the media offered by the media providers are maintained by the media server. The media server updates the foregoing information in accordance with the interaction between the media server, the users of media presentation systems, and the media providers.

The present technique relates to a data generation apparatus, a data generating method, a data reproduction apparatus, and a data reproducing method capable of enabling a user to enjoy an HDR image. HDR information designated by HDR designating information is acquired from a file storing a track of a stream including the HDR information which is configured with feature information representing features of luminance of an HDR (high dynamic range) image having a dynamic range higher than that of an STD (standard) image and conversion information representing a conversion rule of converting the one of the STD image and the HDR image into the other and a target track including the HDR designating information designating the HDR information which is to be applied to the target track of interest in the HDR information of the track. The present technique can be applied, for example, to the case of applying HDR information to a subtitle having an SMPTE-TT format using XML.
CROWD SOURCED INDEXING AND/OR SEARCHING OF CONTENT
Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method, and/or computer program product embodiments for a crowd sourced indexing and/or searching of content. An embodiment operates by receiving one or more requests for content from one or more media devices, each request comprising content identifier information that identifies the content, determining whether crowd sourced content index information has been generated for the content, transmitting a response to the one or more media devices of the one or more media devices, in response to the one or more requests, the response comprising content location information and a content indexing request, and receiving content index information for the content identified by the content identifier information from the one or more media devices.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SETTING TRANSPARENCY OF SCREEN MENU, AND AUDIO AND VIDEO PLAYING DEVICE
Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for setting transparency of a screen menu, an audio and video playing device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, and the method includes: receiving screen menu data; and presetting the transparency of an area to be adjusted in the received screen menu data to a preset transparency, and superimposing a received external video signal onto the screen menu data in which the transparency is set, and transmitting the superimposed data to a display screen for displaying, wherein the preset transparency is other transparency than opacity. With this method, the transparency of the background in the received screen menu data is set to the preset transparency, and the received external video signal is superimposed onto the screen menu data in which the transparency of the background is set, and transmitted to the display screen for displaying, so that the external video signal superimposed onto the screen menu data can be displayed by displaying the screen menu in the at least semi-transparent background, so that a user can see the external video signal shielded by the background of the screen menu, thus improving the experience of the user.
DETECTING AND REMOVING MEDIA MODIFICATIONS FOR IDENTIFICATION SERVICES AND COPYRIGHT COMPLIANCE
A system processed a representation of a media content item using a trained machine learning model to identify whether the media content item is a modified media content item. The trained machine learning model outputs an indication of one or more modifications of the media content item. Responsive to determining that the one or more modifications satisfy a criterion, one or more operations are performed on the media content item in view of the one or more modifications to generate an updated media content item. The updated media content item is compared to known media content items to identify known material contained therein.
AUTOMATED INPUT IN AN INTERACTIVE TELEVISION SYSTEM
A method and mechanism for automating user input in an interactive television system. An interactive application is conveyed concurrently with a broadcast programming stream in an interactive television system to a receiver. The interactive application is configured to provide added content to a television viewer upon a request by the viewer. In order to request the display of the available added content, a viewer may provide an indication that the use of a script is desired. Subsequently, a script corresponding to the interactive application is utilized to provide input to the interactive application in lieu of the viewer actively providing the input necessary to display the added content. In addition, a viewer may configure the receiver to indicate default preferences for the use of scripts. The receiver may then utilize a standardized script to provide input to interactive application having added content available for viewing. Further, a corresponding program, interactive application, added content, and script may be received and stored on a mass storage device. Subsequently, the stored material may be retrieved for display and execution.
Methods and apparatus for seeking within a media stream using scene detection
A system uses generated scene transition frames to allow fast seeking within a media stream. A set of scene transition frames associated with the media stream are generated, then transmitted along with the media stream from a remotely located media source over a network. A subset of the scene transition frames are displayed, allowing a desired scene transition frame to be selected from a subset of the scene transition frames based on user input. The media source can then be displayed (e.g., played) starting from a frame corresponding to the desired scene transition frame.
