SESSION-BASED INFORMATION FOR DYNAMIC ADAPTIVE STREAMING OVER HTTP

Aspects of the disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable mediums for receiving media data of media content. One apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives a media presentation description (MPD) file and a session-based description (SBD) file. The processing circuitry determines whether the SBD file includes a starting time attribute indicating a starting time of an SBD timeline of a session. The processing circuitry determines the starting time of the SBD timeline based on the SBD file in response to the SBD file including the starting time attribute. The processing circuitry determines the starting time of the SBD timeline based on the MPD file in response to the SBD file not including the starting time attribute.

PATTERN ADDRESSING FOR SESSION-BASED DASH OPERATIONS
20210211759 · 2021-07-08 · ·

A method of session-based DASH operations can include receiving a media presentation description (MPD) referencing a session-based description (SBD) and indicating a key name during a media access session. The SBD includes a first repeating pattern element that includes a first sequence of timed key values of the key name. The first repeating pattern element indicates that the first sequence of the timed key values of the key name is repeated along a timeline or an orderline. A first key value of the key name corresponding to a timing or a segment number of a current segment of a sequence of segments can be determined based on the first repeating pattern element in the SBD. A request for the current segment can be transmitted to a media content server. The request includes a pair of the key name and the first key value.

Methods, systems, processor and computer code for providing video clips

A computer-implemented method/system of providing video clip playback, including: (i) receiving a video feed; (ii) converting the video feed into a compressed format structure; (iii) uploading the compressed format structure to a first server; (iv) receiving an electronic edit decision list defining how to manipulate the compressed format structure; (v) saving the electronic edit decision list to a server; (vi) receiving a request to provide to a user terminal a video clip playback corresponding to a video clip defined by the compressed format structure and the electronic edit decision list; (vii) sending to the user code executable to provide the video clip defined by the compressed format structure and the electronic edit decision list; and (viii) responding to requests from the code when executed, to provide content corresponding to the compressed format structure stored in accordance with the electronic edit decision list to provide the video clip playback.

Receiving device, receiving method, transmitting device, and transmitting method

The present technology relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a transmitting device, and a transmitting method that enable operation of subtitles to be displayed in a superimposed manner on broadcast content reliably. The receiving device acquires trigger information for providing a function relating to subtitles, the trigger information including location information by which a resource on the Internet is identifiable; acquires subtitle information including a document relating to subtitles described in a predetermined computer language, on the basis of the location information included in the trigger information; and controls displaying of the subtitles on the basis of at least one of the trigger information and the subtitle information. The present technology is applicable to a television receiver capable of receiving digital broadcast signals, for example.

Partial frame replacement enabling multiple versions in an integrated video package

Multiple different versions of media content are contained in a single package of audio-video media content, using compression algorithms that reduce storage and bandwidth required for storing multiple full-resolution versions of the media. Portions of individual frames are replaced during playback so that only the pixels that differ between versions need to be stored.

Stitching content streams together

Methods and apparatus are described for stitching independently encoded content streams together such that they appear to be part of a single streaming session.

DELIVERY APPARATUS, DELIVERY METHOD, AND PROGRAM

There is provided a delivery apparatus, a delivery method, and a program that are capable of providing live delivery with lower delay. Based on a URL specified by a request from a client regarded as a destination to which a content is live-delivered by using MPEG-DASH, DASH segments included in content are delivered. An extended function of independently specifying a duration of DASH segments and a placement of an SAP is used to define the URL so as to make a request for a whole of a segment sequence including a series of DASH segments consecutively arranged. Further, the URL is defined so as to make a request for a predetermined number of DASH segments from a random access point, including a random-accessible DASH segment and subsequent DASH segments in the same segment sequence. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a content delivery system that provides live delivery by using MPEG-DASH.
