The present invention relates to a receiving apparatus, a reception method, a transmitting apparatus, a transmission method, and a program that enable management information of an application program to be transmitted without changing existing facilities. An AIT acquiring unit acquires AIT information to control an operation of an application program executed in linkage with data broadcasting content, which is described in a meta element of a BML document of the data broadcasting content transmitted by a broadcasting wave of digital broadcasting, and an HTML browser unit controls an operation of a linked application distributed through the Internet, on the basis of the AIT information acquired by the AIT acquiring unit. The present invention can be applied to a television receiver that receives the broadcasting wave of the digital broadcasting.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATION OF MEDIA
A method of generating media programming includes providing a first media source having a plurality of media elements, tags associated with each of the media elements, and one or more first media source templates for assembling of the media elements into media programming. The method further includes providing a second media source, the second media source having at least a second template and receiving a request for media programming at the second media source. The method further includes in response to the request, generating media programming including selected ones of the media elements assembled in accordance with at least the second template.

Secondary content (e.g., promotions, advertisements, etc.) can also be selectively inserted into cDVR content. Various access, business or operational rules and methods implementing the foregoing are also described.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for client centric service quality control. A first viewport of a 360 degree video may be determined. The 360 degree video may comprise one or more of an equirectangular, a cube-map, a cylindrical, a pyramidal, and/or a spherical projection mapping. The first viewport may be associated with a spatial region of the 360 degree video. An adjacent area that extends around the spatial region may be determined. A second viewport of the 360 degree video may be determined. A bitstream associated with the 360 degree video may be received. One or more enhanced regions may be included in the bitstream. The one or more enhanced regions may correspond to the first and/or second viewport, A high coding bitrate may be associated with the first viewport and/or the second viewport.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for client centric service quality control. A first viewport of a 360 degree video may be determined. Systems and methods for virtual set-top support of an HTML client
A server remote from a client device executes an HTML-based virtual client application. The server uses the HTML-based virtual client application to traverse a Document Object Model (DOM) tree to identify differences between a set of sequential images in sequential video frames of a sequence of video frames to render a rendered image corresponding to a video frame, the rendered image associated with HTML commands. The server uses the HTML-based virtual client application to generate an HTML wrapper for the rendered image that includes data encoded in accordance with the differences identified by traversing the DOM tree. The server sends the HTML wrapper to the client device to be processed by an HTML-based application on the client device to enable the image to be displayed at a display coupled to the client device.
