Implemental method and application of personalized presentation of associated multimedia content
An implementation method and an application of a personalized presentation of associated multimedia content are provided. The method includes steps of: by a multimedia content provider, uniformly completing full file content when producing a multimedia file, and classifying segments of the content through a marking method according to an importance and/or an association degree of the content, so as to produce different versions of the multimedia file; and selectively previewing and/or playing by a user according to the different versions. The present invention is a flexible and efficient method for scalable organization, storage and transmission in an Internet on-demand system, thereby adding a flexible organization mechanism for the media content that an existing multimedia protocol lacks, and solving problems of an existing multimedia system, such as low transmission efficiency, waste of storage resources and poor user experience.

Content presentation analytics and optimization
Techniques are described herein for optimizing the presentation of content through obtaining viewership metrics, generating multiple renditions of presentations of content, and selecting optimized renditions of content. One aspect includes associating a request for viewership metrics with a presentation of content, publishing the presentation of content, and receiving information of the viewership metrics associated with the presentation. Another aspect includes copying a presentation of a content item, creating a second presentation of the content item for publishing over one or more channels, and linking the presentation of the content item to the second presentation of the content item, such that a change to one propagates to the other of the presentation of the content item or the second presentation of the content item. In yet another aspect, a content rendition may be selected for presentation based on performance of the rendition out of multiple renditions in an auction.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CUSTOMIZING BROADCAST VIDEO
In one example, content assets and customization items are obtained at a head-end system. For each customization item, one or more target attributes are obtained that include customer attributes relating to groups of customers. A rule file is generated that has a hierarchical tree structure with a plurality of nodes at different hierarchical levels of the tree structure, the customer attributes forming nodes at one or more intermediate hierarchical levels of the tree structure and the customization item identifiers forming end nodes of the tree structure. The rule file is broadcast to a plurality of customer decoders which each store the rule file on a local memory, and then traverse the rule file by comparing customer attributes that are stored on or accessible by the customer decoder with the customer attributes in the tree structure to obtain a customization item identifier at an end node.

TRANSMISSION METHOD, RECEPTION METHOD, TRANSMISSION DEVICE, AND RECEPTION DEVICE
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a transmission method for enabling transmission of content using a broadcast wave and a communication channel includes: transmitting auxiliary information using at least the broadcast wave, the auxiliary information being information for synchronizing content transmission using the broadcast wave and content transmission using the communication channel when the content is transmitted using the broadcast wave and the communication channel, and the auxiliary information causing a reception side to perform the syncronization when the reception side receives the auxiliary information. Therefore, even if timing of starting reception of the content through the communication is delayed, the reception side can play back the content by a combination of the broadcasting and the communication.
