Methods and devices for producing and processing representations of multimedia scenes

The representation of content, in a scene representation, is enriched with a view to the adaptive use of the latter according to a set of common parameters. A sub-graph of the scene graph, which is susceptible to variable processing, is identified. For this purpose, two new types of scene element can be defined, one of which allows the identification of the sub-graph and the second enables application of the set of common parameters in relation to the sub-graph. An example of the first type is a node of so-called AdaptivityControl type which encompasses the entire sub-graph, a list of the nodes describing the set of common parameters and a group of fields for dynamic updating of the content of this node. An example of the second type is a node of so-called CompressedImageStrategy type which comprises information relating to the object to be coded and the coding parameters.

RIGHTS MANAGEMENT AND SYNDICATION OF CONTENT

Systems, devices, and methods are described herein for distributing syndicated content or content with one or more distribution restrictions. In one aspect, a method may include assigning a unique ID to a plurality of content items, where the unique ID of at least one of the content items is associated with one or more property distribution restrictions. The method may further include streaming in a video stream the content items to at least two properties and monitoring the unique IDs of the plurality of content items streamed in the video stream to detect least one content item associated with the one or more property distribution restrictions. The distribution of the least one content item associated with the one or more property distribution restrictions may be blocked from the one or more properties concurrently with streaming the video stream, based on the one or more property distribution restrictions.

REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND REPRODUCTION METHOD, AND FILE GENERATION DEVICE AND FILE GENERATION METHOD
20190103122 · 2019-04-04 ·

The present disclosure relates to a reproduction device and a reproduction method, and a file generation device and a file generation method, which enable acquisition of a video stream having an optimum bit rate when acquiring an audio stream encoded by a lossless compression technique and a video stream. A segment file acquisition unit acquires an audio stream encoded by a lossless DSD technique before a video stream corresponding to the audio stream and detects a bit rate of the audio stream. A selection unit selects the video stream to be acquired from a plurality of the video streams having different bit rates, on the basis of the bit rate detected by the segment file acquisition unit. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a moving image reproduction terminal or the like.

Displaying linked hyper-videos within hyper-videos

A method for placing a linked hyper-video within a hyper-video. The method includes identifying one or more points of interest in the hyper-video, detecting one or more features of the hyper-video, extracting at least one of the one or more features, and displaying the linked hyper-video, within the hyper-video, based on the one or more identified points of interest and based on the extracted at least one of the one or more features. The method further includes extracting one or more features from the hyper-video that depict one or more viewing characteristics of a user. The method includes analyzing the one or more features from the hyper-video to identify a low-saliency area of the hyper-video, a low-frequency region within the low-saliency area, and a homogenous sub-region within the low-frequency region. The method further includes placing a linked hyper-video at the homogenous sub-region within the low-frequency region of the hyper video.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING A VIDEO PLAYER PLAYBACK POSITION
20190098344 · 2019-03-28 ·

Systems and methods enable the determination of a playback position of a video player. A request is received, at a system over a network from a user device, for an item of video content. Interstitial content is received. The interstitial content is segmented into segments and the segments are encrypted. A given decryption key is associated with a respective locator, such as a URL. A playlist manifest file is generated that includes locators corresponding to segments of the requested item of video content, segments of the interstitial content, and decryption keys for respective encrypted interstitial segments. The generated playlist manifest file is transmitted to the user device. A request for a first decryption key for an encrypted first interstitial segment is received, and based on the request, a playback position of the video player is determined. A corresponding message, indicating the playback position, may be transmitted to a remote destination.

Transmission apparatus and method, reception apparatus and method, and transmission and reception system

A content reception apparatus, for receiving non-real-time (NRT) content, includes circuitry that receives a digital television broadcast signal including a digital television program, the NRT content, and filtering criteria related to the NRT content and outputs the digital television program for display to a user. The circuitry receives question information relating to a preference, demographic, or interest of the user and generates user answer information based on the question information received. Further, the circuitry compares the user answer information and the filtering criteria, and filters the NRT content based on the comparison.
