A method and system for improving a hyper-video navigational process is provided. The method includes automatically tracking user exploration paths of users within a hyper video space comprising a video stream. Hotspot video frames are extracted from the hyper video space. Conversations associated with the user interactions are linked with spatial temporal regions of the hotspot video frames. Common attributes of the user exploration paths are associated with common aspects of the conversations and specified user view personas of the video stream are detected. Visual trajectory paths are extracted and a particular user persona is assigned to the hyper video space. In response, the hyper video space is automatically navigated.

Generating interactive content using a media universe database

A media universe database is configured to store a plurality of elements of media universe content related to a media universe. An analysis of a digital video is performed. Based at least in part on the analysis, a correspondence is determined between one or more objects in the digital video and respective elements of the media universe content. An interactive digital video is generated based on the digital video. The interactive digital video comprises a plurality of video frames including one or more interactive video frames. The one or more interactive video frames comprise one or more interactive objects corresponding to the elements of media universe content.

Method and apparatus for promotional programming

A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a product placement event that is triggered by a placement stamp in a media program. The placement stamp may identify an occurrence of a product in the media program, where the occurrence is not an explicit advertisement. The method further may include searching a product description database according to a product identifier of the product placement event and receiving product advertising information matching the product identifier in an entry of the product description database. The product description database may have been updated, and the product advertising information may differ from what the product advertising information would have been if the product description database had not been updated. The method may further include presenting a product advertisement according to the product advertising information. Other embodiments are disclosed.
