A user interface is controlled to support a user using an image processing apparatus which can perform a task, for example, for storing image data obtained by a scanner in a memory or printing the image by a printer. In a display apparatus which can display a user interface including operation items, a user's intention is estimated, and an operation by the user for specifying a task is supported. For example, statuses of an image input unit and an image accept unit relating to execution of the task are monitored, and display forms of the operation items are varied in accordance with results of the monitoring.

Handheld device for capturing text from both a document printed on paper and a document displayed on a dynamic display device

A device for capturing rendered text is described. The device incorporates one or more visual sensors that receive visual information as a part of capturing rendered text. The visual sensors are collectively capable of capturing both text that is permanently printed on a page, and text that is displayed transitorily on a dynamic device. The device further incorporates a visual information disposition subsystem for disposing of visual information received by the visual sensors. The device further incorporates a package that bears the visual sensors and the visual information disposition subsystem, and is suitable to be held in a human hand.

This disclosure describes a system including an imaging device. The imaging device includes an imaging unit with a lens that focuses light onto an image sensor that produces image data, wherein the image data is only stored by the imaging device for transfer to and processing by an external device. The imaging device includes a control interface that provides commands to the imaging unit. The system also includes a mount with a wall that releasably secures the imaging device and provides access to the control interface and a securing structure that secures the mount to a variety of locations.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING SAME

According to various embodiments of the present invention, a three-dimensional imaging device and/or an electronic device may comprise: a stand for supporting an electronic device including a display panel; a half mirror disposed on one surface of the stand in such a way as to slantingly face the display panel of the electronic device supported by the stand; and a retro-reflection member disposed on the stand in such a way as to incline toward the half mirror, wherein the half mirror reflects an image (hereinafter, a first output image) output from the display panel to introduce the reflected image into the retro-reflection member, and allows the image reflected by the retro-reflection member to transmit therethrough, so as to form an image(hereinafter, a first aerial image) corresponding to the first output image, on a space at another side of the half mirror. Such an electronic device may exist in various forms according to embodiments.

Image displaying apparatus with changed menu based on detection of mobile information terminal placed thereon

In an image processing apparatus which generates an input signal when a mobile information terminal contacts a display surface and makes a wireless communication with the contacting mobile information terminal, it is difficult to make an appropriate display by discriminating whether a contact object is a mobile information terminal or a user's finger. To accomplish this, when a mobile information terminal (200) is placed on a touch panel (104), this placement is recognized based on a wireless communication response (701), and a processing menu for the terminal is displayed. On the other hand, if the user's finger (300) is placed, since no wireless communication response (701) is detected, it is recognized that the contact object is not the mobile information terminal (200), and a general manipulation menu is displayed.

System and method to manage multi-mode camera previews on an image-receiving device

A communication device, method and computer program product provide multiple simultaneous camera previews of different imaging modes of the same image. The communication device includes a communication subsystem that receives a photographic image stream from a second communication device. The communication device includes a display driver that presents content on a display device. A controller of the communication device is communicatively coupled to the display driver. The controller simultaneously presents the more than one camera previews on the display device. The communication device presents a particular imaging mode of the photographic image stream corresponding to the particular camera preview that is user selected. The communication device transmits, via the communication subsystem to the second communication device, a report of a user selection by the at least one user input device, of the particular imaging mode of the photographic visual stream that is being presented on the display device.

Vehicle entertainment table unit and cradle

A vehicle entertainment system includes a tablet unit and a cradle. The tablet unit includes a display and a touch screen input device disposed on a front surface, a first electrical connection, a first mounting mechanism, and a wireless receiver. The wireless receiver is configured to receive media data from a wireless network and the touch screen input device is configured to receive input from a user. The cradle is disposed in a headrest in a vehicle and includes a second electrical connection and a second mounting mechanism. The tablet unit is electrically connected to the cradle via the first and second electrical connections, and is physically coupled to the cradle via the first and second mounting mechanisms upon mounting the tablet unit to the cradle.
