11344155 · 2022-05-31 · ·

A method for managing temperature within a charcoal grill system includes: receiving a target grill temperature for a cooking chamber within the charcoal grill system; in response to receiving an ignition trigger, entering an ignition mode; during the ignition mode, activating an igniter within the charcoal grill system to ignite a charcoal cartridge arranged in a cartridge chamber within the charcoal grill system and activating a stoke fan coupled to the cartridge chamber to accelerate combustion of the charcoal cartridge; monitoring a temperature inside the charcoal grill system; in response to the temperature inside the charcoal grill system exceeding an ignition temperature, entering a temperature management mode; and during the temperature management mode, selectively activating the stoke fan and the cooling fan to maintain the cooking chamber at approximately the target grill temperature.

Foldable Used Charcoal and Ashes Storage Bag
20220142408 · 2022-05-12 ·

The present invention relates to a foldable containment bag for charcoal, designed to seamlessly remove used or spent charcoal and ashes directly from a grill. The bag can be unfolded in a planar sheet to insert into a grill. The sheet is flexible and conforms to the shape of the inside surface of the grill. The sheet includes a top surface, a bottom surface and a mesh of flexible aluminum wiring disposed within the top surface and the bottom surface. During use, charcoal is placed on the top surface of the sheet, and after use of the grill, the sheet can be folded to form a bag that firmly secures the used charcoal and associated ashes for transportation and disposal. The bag can have folding lines to fold and unfold for use.

A grill stove includes a kettle, legs, and a lid. The kettle includes an outer wall with a ventilation aperture, an inner wall, and a top collar extending between the inner wall and the outer wall and connecting the top portion of the outer wall to the top portion of the inner wall to form a dual-walled kettle. A base pan may be attached to the outer wall and may form a bottom of the kettle. A nest pan may have an edge and a ventilation aperture. The edge of the nest pan may be attached to the bottom portion of the inner wall and disposed above the base pan. The nest pan and the base pan being spaced apart to form a gap therebetween. The ventilation aperture of the nest pan may be in fluid communication with the ventilation aperture of the outer wall. An ash pan may be removably positionable above the nest pan.

DIRECT-CURRENT, SOLID-FUEL GRILL

A direct-current (DC) solid-fuel grill comprises a direct-current power source and a direct-current auger motor receiving power from the direct-current power source. The DC solid-fuel grill may also comprise a solid-fuel grill component configured to be driven by the direct-current auger motor. A direct-current controller or processor is in communication with the direct-current auger motor. The direct-current controller or processor is configured to provide at least a first signal to the direct-current auger motor causing the solid-fuel grill component to actuate at a first velocity, and a second signal to the direct-current auger motor causing the solid-fuel grill component to actuate at a second velocity.

Disclosed is an induction burner ignition system that implements an induction burner located external to the fire pot. The induction burner can be controlled by a controller to start and stop according to a predetermined heating algorithm, and can further provide heat via heat sinks in contact with the induction burner. Because the induction burner is located external to the fire pot, it is easily repairable or replaceable and avoids the harmful atmosphere of the fire pot. The induction burner also provides more uniform heating than conventional hot rod technology to improve the pellet heating process.

Charcoal grill accessory for gas grills
11213168 · 2022-01-04 ·

A device utilizes charcoal for cooking food, and is adapted for lighting the charcoal by placement on a conventional gas grill. The device includes a food-receiving plate/grill, a charcoal platform, and an ash platform/tray. The device is adapted so that, with the ash tray removed and the device resting on the gas grill, heat from the gas flames ignites the charcoal resting on the charcoal platform. Upon the ignition of the charcoal, the gas grill may be turned off, the ash tray may be inserted into the device underneath the charcoal platform to catch the charcoal ash, and the device may remain on the gas grill or be moved to another table/surface as the charcoal-only cooking proceeds. The charcoal platform may be stationary in one location, or movable to multiple locations, between the bottom extremity of the device and the food-receiving grill member(s) at the top of the device.

Wick-start charcoal portable grill

A portable charcoal barbeque grill is disclosed with self-contained charcoal briquettes and an upper grill for cooking. The barbeque grill may be constructed with a starter wick having relatively low ignition-temperature for easy lighting. The wick also has a sufficiently high burning temperature either to ignite charcoal briquettes or to ignite a starter material which in turn has a starter-material-burning-temperature sufficiently high to ignite the charcoal briquettes.
