An image forming apparatus includes a printing unit connectable to a print server system with a print service providing print data. The image forming apparatus includes a reception unit that receives a URL from the print service in response to receipt of a print instruction, the URL indicating a location where the print data is stored and receives the print data based on the received URL, and a transmission unit that transmits the received print data to the printing unit. The transmission unit starts communication with the printing unit in response to receipt of partial print data, does not disconnect communication with the printing unit before receipt of a remainder of the print data finishes, and disconnects communication with the printing unit in response to completion of transmission of all of the print data.

The present disclosure relates to a an electronic device such as a digital camera 300 that includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment a digital camera keep track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, a deletion criteria is used to prioritize which images are deleted first.

The set value management circuit distributes, based on a master authority as an authority for distributing a changed set value to the other image forming apparatus, the changed set value to the other image forming apparatus. The storage circuit, when the distribution fails, stores a distribution hold list that includes a combination of: an identifier of another image forming apparatus where the distribution has failed, and an item name and value of a set value where the distribution has failed. The distribution hold list management circuit manages the stored distribution hold list.
