A service providing system is for providing a service that is in cooperation with a printing service that is provided by an external printing system. The service providing system includes a job obtaining unit configured, when receiving from the printing system a notification representing that a print job is created by the printing service, to obtain the print job from the printing system; a job managing unit configured to store, in a job storage unit, the print job obtained by the job obtaining unit; and a job transmitting unit configured to transmit the print job stored in the job storage unit in response to a print job request from an image forming apparatus that is coupled to the service providing system via a network.

A multifunctional printer having a printer section, an auto document feeder, a scanner section, a print path, and a path guide. When the multifunctional printer is not in a print and scan mode, the path guide can move to a position that routes printed paper from the print path to a print output tray. When the multifunctional printer is not in a print and scan mode, the path guide can move to a position that routes printed paper from the print path to the auto document feeder, where it can be scanned.

For each of one or more users of a print device during a time period, the system identifies an event that is initiated at the print device over a network, and determines whether the used is registered with the location tracking system. In response to determining that the user is registered with the location tracking system, the system determines a location of the user, and stores the one or more location coordinates in a data store such that they are associated with the print device. A system of tracking a location of a print device in an environment. For each of one or more users of a print device during a time period, the system identifies an event that is initiated at the print device over a network where the event is associated with the user and a print job, and determines whether the user is registered with the location tracking system. In response to determining that the user is registered with the location tracking system, the system determines a login location of the user, determines whether the login location is current, and in response to determining that the login location is current, stores the one or more location coordinates in a data store such that they are associated with the print device. The system estimates a location of the print device, and provides the location of the print device to an asset management system.

The ID acquisition section acquires ID information that specifies a print job sent from an information processing apparatus to an image forming apparatus. In a case in which the ID information is acquired and a beacon signal is received from a beacon transmitter, the position information acquisition section acquires, according to the received beacon information, position information relating to a position of the portable terminal relative to the image forming apparatus. If the position information meets a specific condition indicating the approach of the portable terminal to the image forming apparatus, the return instruction section instructs the image forming apparatus to return from a power-saving mode to a normal mode.

An image processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit, an identification unit, and a generation unit. The acquisition unit acquires image data generated by reading an image on an original. The identification unit identifies a predetermined size of an original, the predetermined size being different from a size of the original. An image forming apparatus having a short-range wireless communication function includes a scanner that scans a document and generates image data of the document, and a storage that stores the image data generated by the scanner. If an operation mode of scanning a document by the scanner and transmitting image data of the document to an external apparatus by the short-range wireless communication function is instructed, the scanner is controlled to generate image data of a document, and store the image data in the storage, and then the image data stored in the storage is transmitted to the external apparatus by the short-range wireless communication function.

The display control unit causes the display device to display a composite image formed by combining additional information based on the apparatus information with a to-be-combined image, while linking the additional information to a position of the electronic apparatus in the to-be-combined image, this position corresponding to a relationship between the position of the electronic apparatus in real space and a position of the portable apparatus in real space.
