An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication module, a memory, a display, and a processor, wherein the processor may confirm a user input related to selection of an image corrected by using a first image processing scheme, transmit attribute information related to the first image processing scheme to an external electronic device through the communication module, based on the user input, receive, from the external electronic device through the communication module, the image corrected by using a second image processing scheme selected based on the attribute information in the external electronic device, and display, through the display, the image corrected by using the second image processing scheme.

A method for controlling a printer to print on a recording medium having a non-contact tag by a processor of the printer is provided. The method comprises placing the recording medium on a placement area of the printer; wireless reading, from the non-contact tag, a plurality of pieces of identification information each for identifying a specific image; detecting whether any one of a plurality operation buttons provided on the printer has been pressed by a user, wherein the pressed operation button is corresponding to one of plurality of pieces of identification information; acquiring, from a storage device provided in the printer, the specific image corresponding the one of plurality of pieces of identification information selected by the pressed operation button; and printing the specific image on the recording medium.

A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

In an image scanning apparatus, an image scanning unit scans one or more page images from a document of one or more pages and generates image data of the one or more page images. An image acquiring unit acquires the image data, generates a document image file including the image data, and stores the document image file into a specific folder. A communication processing unit transmits to a specific destination a message that includes a network identifier of the document image file. A server unit transmits the document image file upon receiving a transmission request that specifies the network identifier. Further, the communication processing unit includes a shrink image of a predetermined page among the one or more page into the message; and the server unit performs image search for the shrink image as a search key upon receiving an image search request that specifies the shrink image.

An image scanning unit scans a page image from a document and generates image data of the page image in accordance with a job request by a login user. A document file of the image data is generated, and saved in a specific folder. An additional information generating unit generates specific additional information that indicates content of the page image. A communication processing unit transmits a message including a network identifier of the document file to a destination user specified by the job request. A server unit transmits the document file upon receiving a transmission request that specifies the network identifier. Further, the communication processing unit (a) does not include the additional information into the message if the destination user is the login user and (b) includes the additional information into the message if the destination user is not the login user.

In an image forming apparatus that cooperates with a management service and a blockchain service, the management service receiving a document via a network and storing the document, and the blockchain service managing information on the document in block units, defining a relation between each of a plurality of blocks and blocks before and/or after the block, and managing the plurality of blocks using a plurality of nodes. In a case where an error occurs during printing of the document, new information to be registered in response to completion of the printing of the document is not registered in the blockchain service, the printing is stopped, and an error process is performed.

A multi-function printer includes a generating section, an image recognition section, a speaking section, and a transmitting section. The generating section scans an original document to generate scan data. The image recognition section performs image recognition on the scan data. The speaking section causes a word corresponding to a recognition result of the image recognition section and corresponding to a drawing, a photograph, or the like included in the original document to be spoken from a speaker circuit. The transmitting section transmits the scan data generated by the generating section to a specific destination when a specific operation is performed during speaking performed by the speaking section or within a certain period of time after completion of the speaking performed by the speaking section.

Cloud-based document management systems are disclosed that provide a direct link between a scanner and cloud storage. In embodiments, a document management system provides a web scanning application that is executable in a web browser. The application can initiate a scan from a scanner in communication with the web browser that is transmitted directly to a remote cloud storage location and indexed by the document management system without requiring storing a copy of the document local to the web browser. Other embodiments allow printing from the web browser directly to the document management system and remote cloud storage. In another aspect, a receipt printer buffer is provided that can provide electronic receipts that may be directly uploaded to the cloud--based document management system.

The present invention discloses methods and systems for tagged-signal verification. Methods include: upon obtaining original content, generating identity and semantic signatures; superposing the identity signature on the content as an in-band digital watermark; utilizing the semantic signature by: superposing on the content or storing; transmitting a tagged signal combining watermark and content; upon receiving the tagged signal with a verification request, extracting transmitted content; extracting the watermark to retrieve a transmitted identity signature; determining the transmitted identity signature is valid by comparing to the original; obtaining the original semantic signature either by: extracting from the watermark, or retrieving a stored version; generating a transmitted semantic signature; verifying the transmitted semantic signature is identical to the original; determining the transmitted content is tamper-free and identical to the original, or has been manipulated; and transmitting a confirmation notification vouching for the authenticity as a genuine version, or designating as a tampered version.

The present invention is concerning to an image management system that communicates with a first communication terminal via a communication network, the image management system comprising: an image storage unit configured to store image data; a receiving unit configured to receive, from the first communication terminal, link information that includes image identification information for identifying the image data and includes predetermined-area information that indicates a predetermined area in the image data; and a transmitting unit configured to transmit, to the first communication terminal, the image data that is indicated by the image identification information included in the link information received by the receiving unit and the predetermined-area information included in the link information.
