Image forming apparatus using an adjustment pattern formed on one side of a medium to correct image formation on the opposite side of the medium
An image forming apparatus includes a conveyor, an image former, and a reading device. The conveyor conveys a medium in a conveyance direction. The image former forms an adjustment pattern on one side of the medium conveyed by the conveyor. The reading device downstream from the image former in the conveyance direction reads the adjustment pattern on the one side of the medium conveyed by the conveyor to generate read data. The adjustment pattern includes a first line segment and a second line segment that extend in directions different from each other and each are inclined with respect to the conveyance direction.
Tone Mapping Techniques for Increased Dynamic Range
An electronic device may be provided with a display. A content generator such as a camera may capture images in high dynamic range mode or standard dynamic range mode. The images may have associated image metadata such as face detection information, camera settings, color and luminance histograms, and image classification information. Control circuitry in the electronic device may determine tone mapping parameters for the captured images based on the image metadata. The tone mapping parameters for a given image may be stored with the image in the metadata file. When it is desired to display the image, the control circuitry may apply a tone mapping process to the image according to the stored tone mapping parameters. The algorithm that is used to determine tone mapping parameters based on image metadata may be based on user preference data gathered from a population of users.
METHOD FOR DELETING DATA FILES IN AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.
Imaging apparatus, image processing system, and control method for imaging apparatus
An imaging apparatus includes a first output unit configured to output, outside the imaging apparatus, a first image that an image sensor, an imaging region of which is divided into a plurality of regions, has captured while an exposure condition is controlled for each of the plurality of regions, and a second output unit configured to output, outside the imaging apparatus, exposure information for each of the plurality of regions, the exposure information indicating the exposure condition to be applied to the corresponding one of the plurality of regions when the first image is captured. The second output unit is configured to complete outputting exposure information for a region to be subjected to exposure correction processing in the first image, out of the plurality of regions, before the first output unit completes outputting an image of the region to be subjected to exposure correction processing.
Information Processing Device and Method, and Program, for Gamut Conversion of Content
An device, method and program may properly perform gamut conversion of content and be applied to a gamut conversion device. A restoration conversion state confirming unit performs confirmation such as gamut conversion state of image data read out from an optical disc and the existence or not of restoration metadata. An information exchange unit communicates with an output device via a communication unit and performs information exchange such as the existence or not of restoration processing functionality and gamut conversion functionality and the like. A determining unit determines whether or not restoration processing is performed with a playing device based on information obtained by the restoration conversion state confirming unit and the information exchange unit. Similarly, the determining unit determines whether or not to perform gamut conversion processing with the playing device based on information obtained by the restoration conversion state confirming unit and the information exchange unit.

Preventing restricted trades using physical documents
A system for preventing restricted transactions using physical trade documents includes a document intake machine comprising a document scanner and a data extractor. The document intake machine receives a physical trade document associated with a transaction of goods from an entity. The document scanner scans the physical trade document to create an electronic file. The data extractor identifies trade terms from the electronic file. A trade-executing machine receives the trade terms and compares them to a database of restricted trade terms. For each of the trade terms that match a restricted trade term, the trade executing machines identifies a confidence level associated with the trade term indicating a likelihood that the transaction of goods is a restricted transaction. If the confidence level is greater than a predetermined threshold, the trade executing machine flags the transaction of goods as a potential restricted transaction and communicates a notification message to the entity.
COMPUTERIZED EXCHANGE NETWORK
A computerized exchange network makes available on the Internet collected information of items under inspection, such as goods, real estate, or the like. In one aspect, the items and collected information, such as images and videos, are added to a virtual showroom or other virtual inspection site that presents an inventory of such goods, real estate, or the like available from multiple sellers and/or locations. In another aspect, detailed objective information about the items is provided. In another aspect, a data structure includes desired criteria for a desired item and provides an alert when an item of interest matches the desired criteria.
IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD DISPLAYING PROCESSED IMAGE REPRESENTING RESULT OF COLOR MODIFICATION PROCESS
An image processing method includes: (a) displaying a plurality of candidate image processes to be performed on image data, the plurality of candidate image processes including a color modification process; (b) receiving an instruction indicating the color modification process selected from among the plurality of candidate image processes; (c) displaying a display image corresponding to the image data on the display; (d) designating a display image; and (e) displaying a processed display image that represents a result of the selected color modification process performed on the image data corresponding to the designated display image before the selected color modification process on the image data corresponding to the designated display image is performed.
PRINTING APPARATUS THAT EXECUTES PRINT JOB, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A printing apparatus which is capable of easily issuing an instruction to execute a print job in another file stored at the same storage location without the need to perform a complicated registration operation. The printing apparatus executes a job for printing data based on print settings received from a user. The printing apparatus stores print settings of the job and information indicating a storage location of data printed through execution of the job as a history. The printing apparatus display a selection screen in which a user selects data to be printed from data stored at the storage location when reading the print settings stored.
