A method for printing documents includes detecting a trigger event when a portable memory device is communicatively connected to a print device. The print device is in communication with a data store that contains print history identifying one or more files printed using one or more print devices. The method includes receiving an instruction to print a document file stored on the portable memory device, identifying a property associated with the document file, and comparing the property associated with the document file to the print history to determine if a previously printed document in the print history is substantially similar to the document file. If a previously printed document in the print history is substantially similar to the document file, before printing the document causing a user interface to output a prompt that the document file has previously been printed, otherwise causing the print device to print the document.

An image processing method includes: (a) displaying a plurality of candidate image processes to be performed on image data, the plurality of candidate image processes including a color modification process; (b) receiving an instruction indicating the color modification process selected from among the plurality of candidate image processes; (c) displaying a display image corresponding to the image data on the display; (d) designating a display image; and (e) displaying a processed display image that represents a result of the selected color modification process performed on the image data corresponding to the designated display image before the selected color modification process on the image data corresponding to the designated display image is performed.

An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: transmit pre-process information to a processing apparatus that generates post-process information as a result of processing the pre-process information; and transmit identification information, used to acquire the post-process information, to an apparatus belonging to an apparatus group, satisfying a predetermined condition, among multiple apparatus groups of apparatuses that are enabled to acquire the post-process information and transfer the acquired post-process information to another apparatus.

Verifiable document security systems including a validation center that performs a verification cycle to verify transaction data between an issuer and a recipient and generates a security architecture having a plurality of security elements for printing on a document, wherein the verification cycle is performed before and after printing a document with the security elements; and a printer with an ink suite communicatively coupled to the validation center and configured to print the security architecture on the document.

In one or more embodiments, a control unit reads image data and date information of a main image from a memory card into a RAM. When a watermark printing is set, the control unit combines characters of the date information having a high gradation value with overcoat layer data having a mixture pattern in which pixels having a high gradation value and pixels having a low gradation value are located randomly or alternately in rows and columns to generate overcoat layer print data and stores the data in an overcoat layer data storage area. The control unit generates CMY print data from the image data of the main image to print it on image-receiving paper by using a print processing section. After printing of the main image, the control unit prints the overcoat layer print data so that it is superimposed on the main image on the image-receiving paper.
