USING AUGMENTED REALITY FOR IMAGE CAPTURING A RETAIL UNIT

Methods, devices, and computer-readable storage media for providing a user with augmented guidance to capture images of products placed on a store shelving unit, the method including using an image sensor of a mobile device to capture and display in real-time a video stream depicting a store shelving unit, augmenting the video stream with a marking identifying an area of the store shelving unit and receiving an image including an area outside the marked area. A plurality of images captured by the image sensor and associated with a discontinuous first area of the store shelving unit with at least two non-overlapping regions and having image resolution higher than an image resolution of the video stream are used to mark the area of the video stream representing discontinuous first area and a second area outside the discontinuous first area. The received image overlaps the discontinuous first area and second area.

Information processing apparatus which cooperate with other apparatus, and method for controlling the same

An information processing apparatus is configured to transmit transmission target data to another information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes a display control unit configured to display at least one object corresponding to the transmission target data together with a live view image on a display screen, and a receiving unit configured to receive an association operation for associating any one of the objects with any one of photographic subjects included in the live view image on the display screen. The information processing apparatus includes an identifying unit configured to identify another information processing apparatus associated beforehand with the photographic subject to be subjected to the association operation received by the receiving unit as a transmission destination to which the transmission target data corresponding to the object associated with the photographic subject is transmitted.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPOSITING AN IMAGE

A method and device for compositing and/or transmitting a first image to a first display device, the method comprising receiving a second image representative of a scene, the scene comprising a second display device displaying a third image; receiving the third image; obtaining a first information representative of pose of the second display device with respect to the scene; distorting the third image according to the first information; generating the first image by combining the second image and the distorted third image using the obtained first information; and transmitting data representative of the first image.

Methods and systems for embedding one or more scanned pages as object in a scanned document

The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for embedding one or more scanned pages in a scanned document. The method includes receiving a document for scanning, the document includes a plurality of pages. Each page of the document is scanned. Then, a scanned document is created. A user interface is presented to a user to receive one or more page numbers corresponding to one or more scanned pages of the document to be embedded, a page number where the one or more scanned pages are to be embedded, and a location where the one or more scanned pages are to be embedded. Based on the received details, the one or more scanned pages are embedded as object at the page location in the scanned document. A final scanned document is created including the one or more scanned pages as embedded objects and the remaining pages as visible scanned pages.

Managing printed documents in a document processing system

A printed document manager manages printed documents and is separate from a Document Management System (DMS) that manages electronic soft copy documents also known as source documents. Documents in a DMS repository are registered in a postmark registry by a registration agent. When a document that is registered in the postmark registry is printed, a graphical symbol referred to as a postmark is generated and inserted into the print stream so the postmark is printed on the hard copy of the document. The printed document is logged in a printed document store along with metadata associated with the printed document. The postmark on the printed document can be used for one or more purposes, such as to determine whether the printed document can be shredded after use and to determine whether the printed document is current.

Interactive virtual aquarium simulation system and associated methods

An interactive virtual aquarium simulation system includes a two-dimensional (2D) fish image having a unique identifier associated therewith, with the unique identifier corresponding to predefined fish movements. A scanner scans the 2D fish image and converts to a digital image. A three-dimensional (3D) mapping processor is coupled to the scanner to generate a 3D fish image based on the digital image. A virtual simulation processor is coupled to the 3D mapping processor to generate simulation video of a virtual aquarium including a plurality of fish and the 3D fish image. The 3D fish image swims within the virtual aquarium based on the predefined fish movements. The simulation video of the virtual aquarium with the 3D fish image is provided to a display.

System and method for importing scanned construction project documents

A system and method for efficiently importing scanned construction project documents (e.g., digital images of physical documents) is disclosed. The method includes receiving a digital image of a document and performing a first text recognition operation on a first portion of the digital image. The method includes in response to determining, based on the first text recognition operation, that the first portion does not include machine-readable text, generating a modified image of the document by performing an image modification operation. The image modification operation may include an orientation operation. The method further includes storing the modified image of the document in a database. The image modification operation may also include a de-skewing operation and an alignment operation.

Method and apparatus for providing service using a sensor and image recognition in a portable terminal

A method and an apparatus to provide a service using a sensor and image recognition in a portable terminal that supports Augmented Reality (AR). The method includes determining whether the portable terminal is parallel to ground using an acceleration sensor. When the portable terminal is parallel to the ground, either a map including nearby Point Of Interest (POI) information or constellation information is displayed.
