Each of vehicles acquires its own position, and transmits an image of a nearby outside taken by an own camera and a piece of information of the own position. An information center communicatable wirelessly with the vehicles receives the images and the pieces of information of the vehicles' positions transmitted by the vehicles, and recognizes pieces of first character information appearing in the received images, respectively. Based on the received pieces of information of the vehicles' positions as well as at least either points of interest or areas stored as collection target information, the information center determines at least either points of interest or areas for the recognized pieces of first character information, respectively, and stores association information where the pieces of first character information are associated with the determined at least either points of interest or areas.

Storage of metadata and images

Media capture apparatus and methods for obtaining metadata. Metadata may be collected and stored in a container independent of audio and/or image (media) content. Some container implementations may be configured to store metadata for a given interval, and media content for a portion of the interval. In action camera implementations, metadata may provide a context related to time, physical conditions of a person, location, surroundings of the video capture. In event recording applications, the metadata container may provide information related to a timeline of the event, environmental conditions, proximity of other capture devices. Metadata may be utilized for processing, viewing, and/or sharing of media content. Individual capture devices may communicate and/or combine metadata to one another in order to expand metadata content. Metadata, video and/or images may be shared between users and/or devices using a container.

In-band signaling for display luminance control

A video coder is configured to encode video data, wherein one or more pixels of the encoded video data is used to signal in-band a luminance adjustment value for configuring an overall luminance of the displayed video data. In addition, the video data for pixels of the video data are scaled based upon the luminance adjustment value to compensate for the changed overall luminance. By signaling the luminance adjustment value in-band as part of the encoded video data, the need for a separate control channel is reduced, while also simplifying synchronization between the luminance adjustment value and the frame of video data to which it applies. The display may extract and parse the signaled luminance adjustment value to control a parameter of the display device (e.g., driving voltage, supply current, duty cycle, etc.) to achieve the overall luminance level indicated by the luminance adjustment value.

Determining image forensics using an estimated camera response function
10621430 · 2020-04-14 · ·

An image forensics system estimates a camera response function (CRF) associated with a digital image, and compares the estimated CRF to a set of rules and compares the estimated CRF to a known CRF. The known CRF is associated with a make and a model of an image sensing device. The system applies a fusion analysis to results obtained from comparing the estimated CRF to a set of rules and from comparing the estimated CRF to the known CRF, and assesses the integrity of the digital image as a function of the fusion analysis.

An image processing apparatus communicates with a chat server configured to control sharing of received image data in a transmission destination group based on received information about the group. The image processing apparatus includes a registration unit configured to register a group of the chat server in association with an object, the group serving as a transmission destination of image data, an obtaining unit configured to obtain identification information corresponding to the group from the chat server, a display unit configured to display the registered object, and a transmission unit configured to transmit, if the displayed object is selected, the image data and the information about the group serving as the transmission destination to the chat server. The display unit displays the identification information with the object.

Method and apparatus for providing service using a sensor and image recognition in a portable terminal

A method and an apparatus to provide a service using a sensor and image recognition in a portable terminal that supports Augmented Reality (AR). The method includes determining whether the portable terminal is parallel to ground using an acceleration sensor. When the portable terminal is parallel to the ground, either a map including nearby Point Of Interest (POI) information or constellation information is displayed.

UPLOADING A FILE FROM A USER DEVICE TO A DATA STORAGE SERVICE
20200059509 · 2020-02-20 ·

The present invention relates to a method for uploading a file from a user device (10) to a data storage service (20, 30, 40). According to the method, a category of a set of categories is assigned to the file based on at least one characteristic of the file characterising a content of the file. Furthermore, a data storage service (20, 30, 40) from a set of data storage services is assigned based on the assigned category and the file is uploaded to the assigned data storage service (20, 30, 40).

Providing camera settings from at least one image/video hosting service

Camera settings are provided by retrieving, based on current metadata defining a current position of a camera (5) and from a storage, metadata defining respective positions of other cameras and camera settings used by the other cameras when taking photos or videos that are uploaded on an image/video hosting service. Information representative of camera settings used when taking a photo/video selected among the photos/videos available on the image/video hosting service is provided for transmission to the camera (5).
