HDR METADATA SYNCHRONIZATION
In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for synchronization management of high dynamic range (HDR) media metadata. A synchronization controller of a media device may receive a first set of HDR media metadata provided in connection with one or more images of media. The synchronization controller may disable a metadata synchronization indicator provided to each core of a plurality of processing cores of the media device, responsive to receiving the first set of HDR media metadata. The synchronization controller may write the first set of HDR media metadata to a first memory location while the metadata synchronization indicator is disabled. The synchronization controller may enable the metadata synchronization indicator, responsive to completion of writing of the first set of HDR media metadata to the first memory location.
Information processing device and method, and program, for gamut conversion of content
An device, method and program may properly perform gamut conversion of content and be applied to a gamut conversion device. A restoration conversion state confirming unit performs confirmation such as gamut conversion state of image data read out from an optical disc and the existence or not of restoration metadata. An information exchange unit communicates with an output device via a communication unit and performs information exchange such as the existence or not of restoration processing functionality and gamut conversion functionality and the like. A determining unit determines whether or not restoration processing is performed with a playing device based on information obtained by the restoration conversion state confirming unit and the information exchange unit. Similarly, the determining unit determines whether or not to perform gamut conversion processing with the playing device based on information obtained by the restoration conversion state confirming unit and the information exchange unit.
Encoding and Decoding Reversible Production-Quality Single-Layer Video Signals
A tone-mapping function that maps input images of a high dynamic range into reference tone-mapped images of a relatively narrow dynamic range is generated. A luma forward reshaping function is derived, based on first bit depths and second bit depths, for forward reshaping luma codewords of the input images into forward reshaped luma codewords of forward reshaped images approximating the reference tone-mapped images. A chroma forward reshaping mapping is derived for predicting chroma codewords of the forward reshaped images. Backward reshaping metadata that is to be used by recipient devices to generate a luma backward reshaping function and a chroma backward reshaping mapping is transmitted with the forward reshaped images to the recipient devices. Techniques for the joint derivation of forward luma and chroma reshaping functions are also presented.
Immersive displays
A method of displaying images on an immersive display. The method includes receiving information from an external sensor or input device of the immersive display, based on the information received, detecting an object that conflicts with a virtual reality space, adjusting at least one dimension of virtual reality space to provide an adjusted virtual reality for display on the immersive display to accommodate for the object, and displaying the adjusted virtual reality on the display of the immersive display.
IMAGE CAPTURING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD
An image capturing device includes a setting unit configured to set, based on a type of metadata to be added to a captured image, a generation frequency of the metadata, and a control unit configured to perform control to generate the metadata at the generation frequency set by the setting unit.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENDOSCOPE CALIBRATION
A system and method for calibrating an endoscope having the camera and the light source close to each other in an enclosed environment. The system includes a colour chart plate, being specularly reflecting, having radially extending colour patches, and a circular central achromatic bright field that can handle the automatic gain control of the camera. The colour chart can be mounted into a container unit having mechanically connected holders to support the endoscope arm.
SCENE AND ACTIVITY IDENTIFICATION IN VIDEO SUMMARY GENERATION
Video and corresponding metadata is accessed. Events of interest within the video are identified based on the corresponding metadata, and best scenes are identified based on the identified events of interest. A video summary can be generated including one or more of the identified best scenes. The video summary can be generated using a video summary template with slots corresponding to video clips selected from among sets of candidate video clips. Best scenes can also be identified by receiving an indication of an event of interest within video from a user during the capture of the video. Metadata patterns representing activities identified within video clips can be identified within other videos, which can subsequently be associated with the identified activities.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SELECTING A PROCESS TO BE APPLIED ON VIDEO DATA FROM A SET OF CANDIDATE PROCESSES DRIVEN BY A COMMON SET OF INFORMATION DATA
Inducing a particular behavior/process among a set of pre-determined behaviors/processes by implicitly signaling the selection of the particular behavior/process though a particular combination of specific values of said set of information data driven the process. Typically, enables re-using parameters already carried with a signal to signal how those parameters are used by a specific process.

IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
An image forming device includes a first image forming unit, a second image forming unit, and a control unit. The first image forming unit is configured to form an image on a medium using a decolorable material. The second image forming unit is configured to form an image on a medium using a non-decolorable material. The control unit is configured to detect one or more user-designated regions in image data of an original document, and control one of the first image forming unit and the second image forming unit to form on a medium an image of the image data inside of the user-designated regions and the other of the first image forming unit and the second image forming unit to form on the medium an image of the image data outside the user-designated regions.
