A piezoelectric microelectromechanical acoustic transducer, having a semiconductor substrate with a frame portion and a through cavity defined internally by the frame portion; an active membrane, suspended above the through cavity and anchored, at a peripheral portion thereof, to the frame portion of the substrate by an anchorage structure, a plurality of piezoelectric sensing elements carried by a front surface of the active membrane so as to detect mechanical stresses of the active membrane; a passive membrane, suspended above the through cavity, underneath the active membrane, interposed between the through cavity and a rear surface of the active membrane; and a pillar element, which fixedly couples, and is centrally interposed between, the active membrane and the passive membrane. A ventilation hole passes through the entire active membrane, the passive membrane and the pillar element to set the through cavity in fluidic communication with the front surface of the active membrane.

DISPLAY APPARATUS

A display apparatus includes a display module displaying an image, a rear structure supporting the display module, a vibration generating device vibrating the display module, and a stiff member disposed on a rear surface of the display module. Accordingly, a sound pressure level corresponding to a high frequency domain is prevented from being reduced, thereby enhancing the quality of a sound output to a region in front of a display panel.

Evacuation of liquid from acoustic space

An acoustic module, such as a microphone or speaker module, includes an acoustic membrane that vibrates to produce acoustic waves and an acoustic cavity through which acoustic waves produced by the membrane travel. A liquid removal mechanism removes liquid from the acoustic cavity. Such a liquid removal mechanism may include the acoustic membrane, heating elements, hydrophobic and/or hydrophilic surfaces, and so on. In some cases, the liquid removal mechanism may remove liquid from the acoustic cavity upon connection of the acoustic module and/or an associated electronic device to an external power source.

Ordered picklist for liquid transfer

An acoustic liquid transfer system that includes a processor; a source holding component configured to hold a source microplate; a destination holding component configured to hold a destination microplate; an acoustic transducer configured to cause liquid to transfer between the source and destination microplates; and a controller configured to direct movements, according to an ordered picklist, of one or more of the: source holding component, destination holding component, and acoustic transducer. The processor is configured to access an initial picklist of a plurality of source/destination pairs; obtain a current source/destination pair on the ordered picklist being created; calculate a plurality of movement metrics between the current source/destination pair and at least some of the plurality of source/destination pairs on the initial picklist but not yet on the ordered picklist; select a next source/destination pair with reference to the movement metrics; and add the next source/destination pair to the ordered picklist.

The glass sheet composite of the present invention includes at least two sheets, a liquid layer held between two adjacent sheets of the at least two sheets, and a seal material disposed between the two sheets so as to seal up the liquid layer, in which at least one of the two sheets is a glass sheet, the glass sheet composite including a light-shielding part disposed so as to overlay a boundary between the liquid layer and the seal material when the glass sheet composite is viewed in a plan view. Because of this, the boundary can be concealed, and this not only results in an improvement in designability and a wider choice of materials for the liquid layer and the seal material.

A glass sheet composite includes a first glass sheet, a second sheet disposed opposite the first glass sheet, and a liquid layer formed by sealing up a liquid between the first glass sheet and the second sheet, in which the glass sheet composite has a plurality of vibration areas that are independent of each other in a plan view. The glass sheet composite is a diaphragm including at least one vibrator disposed on one side or both sides of the glass sheet composite. The glass sheet composite enables independent vibration at each of the vibration areas, and enables not only stereophonic or multiphonic reproduction but also local reproduction to be performed along with images. Since the diaphragm includes a vibrator, this diaphragm is excellent in sound reproduction.
