Electroacoustic transducer for headphones

The invention relates to electroacoustic transducers of electrodynamic type intended for the use in headphones. More particularly, the invention relates to the type of electroacoustic electrodynamic transducers having a vibration membrane with the voice coil with conductors fixed thereon and located in a constant magnetic field of the magnetic system of the electroacoustic transducer. The electroacoustic transducer for headphones comprises a dielectric membrane with a flat voice coil, a flat magnetic system comprising magnetized closed magnets axially spaced in concentric relationship, mounted on at least one side of the membrane configured so that the magnetic field can interact with the voice coil, according to the invention, the magnetic system further comprises at least two arc-shaped magnets located above the closed magnets and curved in the direction opposite to the closed magnets, and the voice coil comprises at least one part, which is located in the area of closed magnets and follows the shape of closed magnets, and the second part, which is located in the area of arc-shaped magnets and is meander-shaped. The use of the combined magnetic system comprising closed, preferably ring-shaped, magnets located in the area of the ear canal of the human ear auricle and arc-shaped magnets located above the closed magnets and curved in the direction opposite to the closed magnets, with a certain ratio of pole areas, as well as the use of the respective topology of the voice coil with the part that follows the shape of closed magnets and the meander-shaped part located in the area of arc-shaped magnets allows to achieve improvement in qualities of electroacoustic transduction by expanding the range of reproducible frequencies and increasing the efficiency of the transducer while minimizing the internal volume of the earpieces of headphones.

Embodiments are disclosed of a speaker containing multiple diaphragms and multiple voice coils. Each diaphragm is driven by its own voice coil plate, and at least two of the voice coil plates share at least one or more parts of a permanent magnet pair. In some embodiments, the speaker generates bi-directional sound. Optionally, the multiple diaphragms are of varying sizes, such that the diaphragms are configured to transmit different frequency ranges.

Multi-range speaker containing multiple diaphragms

Embodiments are disclosed of a speaker capable of producing multi-frequency-range sound using bar magnets, multiple diaphragms, and a shared planar voice coil. The planar voice coil is located between the bar magnets and translates a received electric signal into the kinetic energy that vibrates the diaphragms, thus reproducing multi-frequency range sound. In some embodiments, the speaker generates bi-directional sound.

PLANAR MAGNETIC DRIVER HAVING TRACE-FREE RADIANT REGION

A planar magnetic driver including a radiating surface having a trace-free central region is described. The driver has a magnet defining an acoustic opening on a central axis. A diaphragm of the planar magnetic driver is held by mounts having a mounting profile around the central axis, and the diaphragm includes a radiating surface facing the acoustic opening. An innermost conductive trace on the diaphragm extends around a central region of the radiating surface within a magnetic flux of the magnet such that no conductive traces are on the central region. A radial distance between the innermost conductive trace and the mounting profile is less than another radial distance between the innermost conductive trace and the central axis. Accordingly, an excursion range of the diaphragm along the central axis is greater than a gap distance between the conductive trace and the magnet. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
