Handover method and base station

This disclosure discloses methods, apparatuses, and systems for performing handover. One method comprises: receiving, by a target access network device after a mapping relationship between a quality of service (QoS) flow of a terminal device and a data radio bearer (DRB) changes, a handover request from a source access network device, wherein the handover request comprises indication information for requesting to establish a tunnel; and sending, by the target access network device to the source access network device, information about the tunnel for the target access network device to receive one or more data units from the source access network device after the mapping relationship between the QoS flow and the DRB changes.

Optimized train solution

The use of wireless backhaul poses special challenges for in-vehicle base stations. Users that are connected to an in-vehicle base station expect continuous service, even as the in-vehicle base station passes in and out of different wireless backhaul coverage zones, such as when a train passes from a train station with good coverage to a tunnel with poor coverage. The base station thus needs seamless backhaul handover. A system that enables an in-vehicle base station to receive continuous service across different backhaul coverage zones is needed. To solve this problem, a system enabling handover is described. The system involves double-tunneling mobile device data packets in an ESP-UDP IPsec tunnel encapsulated in a GTP-U tunnel. Traffic is transmitted from a mobile device to a specially configured base station that encapsulates mobile device data packets and sends them to the network via wireless backhaul using an LTE UE modem connection.

OPTIMIZED QUALITY OF SERVICE ENFORCEMENT FOR HANDOVER BETWEEN DIFFERENT RADIO ACCESS TYPES

Techniques are described herein for optimizing Quality of Service (QoS) enforcement for handover between different Radio Access Types (RATs). In one example, during an initial user session establishment procedure involving a first RAT, one or more QoS parameters corresponding to a second RAT are obtained. The one or more QoS parameters corresponding to the second RAT are stored to generate one or more stored QoS parameters corresponding to the second RAT. During a handover procedure from the first RAT to the second RAT, the one or more stored QoS parameters corresponding to the second RAT are allocated.

The present disclosure relates to mobility management wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a wireless device in a wireless communication system comprises: receiving, from a source cell, a handover command comprising a handover validity timer; performing a handover attempt to a target cell while the handover validity timer is running; and transmitting, to the source cell, a report message comprising cell information including target cell information for the target cell upon an expiration of the handover validity timer.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING DATA IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Disclosed in embodiments of the present disclosure are a network handover method, apparatus and system. The method includes: a first network element instructing a source base station connected to a user equipment (UE) to initiate a handover during establishment of traffic for the UE; and a second network element initiating bearer establishment or Quality of Service (QoS) flow establishment after the UE has been handed over from a first access network to a second access network. With the embodiments of the present disclosure, a technical problem of an over-complicated handover between networks in the related art is solved.

AVOIDING OUT OF ORDER UPLINK DATA RECEPTION UPON DATA RADIO BEARER RELEASE, HANDOVER TO ANOTHER DATA RADIO BEARER, OR QUALITY OF SERVICE FLOW ADDITION

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for avoiding out of order uplink data reception upon data radio bearer (DRB) release or quality of service (QoS) flow addition. An exemplary method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE), includes obtaining an indication that a first data radio bearer (DRB) is released or handed over to a second DRB, wherein a first mapping maps a first quality of service (QoS) flow to the first DRB; obtaining a second mapping that maps the first QoS flow to a second DRB; editing service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) headers of uplink protocol data units (PDUs) in an uplink transmission buffer associated with the first DRB, based on a difference between a first configuration of the first DRB and a second configuration of the second DRB; and transmitting the uplink PDUs via the second DRB.

Distributed seamless roaming in wireless networks

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for configuring an access point in a wireless network. During operation, the access point discovers one or more existing access points associated with the wireless network. The access point then obtains a set of configuration information from one existing access point, and synchronizes a local timestamp counter to a selected existing access point, thereby allowing the access point to be configured without using a centralized management station.

Method and device for handover

A method for a handover of a mobile station performed by a source base station and a target base station. The target base station receives a handover request message, from the source base station, in which includes QoS information of the mobile device, radio bearer identifier information of the source base station, and a first mapping relationship between a flow and a radio bearer of the source base station, the target base station acknowledges with a handover acknowledgement message. Therefore resource preparation at the target base station during a handover procedure is improved.
