METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANAGING BEARER CONFIGURATION OF USER EQUIPMENT WITH EN-DC CAPABILITY
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5.sup.th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Methods and systems for managing bearer configuration of user equipment (UE) with Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network-New Radio-Dual Connectivity (E-UTRAN-NR-DC) (EN-DC) capability. The UE detects connectivity issues in the UE itself and in interfaces connecting between a NR network with the UE, a LTE network, or an EPC that require disabling NR capability of the UE. The bearer configuration is determined and updated based on the detected connectivity issues. The UE signals the LTE network about the disabling of NR capability, requests enabling of data transfer through bearers of a MCG bearers associated with the LTE network in a current MCG RRC session, and prevents addition of SCG bearers associated with the NR network. The UE recovers data in the SCG bearers, lost due the issues in the NR network, through the MCG bearers. The UE can send a Tracking Area Update (TAU) to indicate the disabling of NR capability if the connectivity issues persist.
Method and device for switching of multi-carrier
A method for switching of multi-carrier and device are provided. The method comprises: receiving a message sent from a source radio access network (RAN) node corresponding to a first link and comprising information of a second link; according to the information of the second link, establishing a connection between a target RAN node corresponding to the first link and an RAN node corresponding to the second link, so as to perform data transmission. The first link is a link in a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) network, and the second link is a link in a second RAT network. Embodiments of the present disclosure can ensure the continuity of the throughput of data transmission during switching under aggregation of multiple RAT carriers.
Dual connectivity techniques for NR (new radio)
Techniques discussed herein can facilitate measurement gap configuration and/or determination of activation or deactivation delays for NR (New Radio) UEs (User Equipments). A first set of aspects can involve coordination of measurement gap configuration for a UE between a MN (Master Node) and SN (Secondary Node). A second set of aspects can involve estimation of timing for activation and/or deactivation of SCell(s) (Secondary Cell(s)) in DC (Dual Connectivity) scenarios. Various embodiments can employ techniques of the first set of aspects and/or the second set of aspects.
Switching to a Single Radio Chain for Voice Communications
In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, devices, and program products for selecting a wireless transmission mechanism. A computing device receives a request to begin a full-duplex voice communication session with a remote computing system. The computing device identifies that it has wirelessly connected to both a WWAN access point and a WLAN access point. The computing device determines whether a level of non-voice session data that is queued for transmission or receipt by the computing device falls beneath a threshold level of data, and as a result, switches to using a single one of multiple WLAN radio chains. The computing device communicates data over the single one of the multiple WLAN radio chains, including voice session data from the full-duplex voice communication session.
Anchor management for dual connectivity devices
A method may include determining that a user equipment (UE) device is a dual connectivity device capable of communicating via a Fifth Generation (5G) network and a non-5G network. The method may also include receiving, a radio resource control (RRC) connection request, establishing an RRC connection with the UE device and determining whether the first wireless station is a dual connectivity wireless station. The method may further include initiating, in response to determining that the first wireless station is not a dual connectivity wireless station, a handover of a wireless connection to the UE device from the first wireless station to a second wireless station that is a dual connectivity wireless station, or identifying, in response to determining that the first wireless station is a dual connectivity wireless station, a 5G wireless station in the 5G network to act as a serving cell for the UE device.
Method. Apparatus And Computer Program Related To Secondary Cell Group Reactivation In Multi-Radio Access Technology-Dual Connectivity
There is provided a method comprising, at a user equipment operating in connection with a first radio access technology network and a second radio access technology network, determining that communication using the second radio access technology is to be suspended and in response to the determining, suspending communication using the second radio access technology and storing a configuration relating to the second radio access technology such that communication using the second radio access technology can be reactivated via at least one of the first radio access technology network and the second radio access technology network.
Evolved node-B (ENB) for management of long term evolution (LTE) wireless local area network (WLAN) aggregation (LWA) and LTE WLAN internet protocol (LWIP)
Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The eNB may receive, from an element manager (EM), control signaling that indicates a wireless local area network (WLAN) mobility set that comprises one or more access points (APs) that are controlled by a WLAN termination (WT) entity. The WLAN mobility set may be for a Long Term Evolution WLAN aggregation (LWA) in which the eNB 104 is to configure indirect communication between the eNB and a UE via at least one of the APs of the WLAN mobility set. The eNB may transfer, to the WT entity, a downlink protocol data unit (PDU) to be forwarded to one of the APs of the WLAN mobility set for transmission to the UE as part of the LWA. The downlink PDU may be received from an S-GW.
