In some aspects, the hybrid measurements and reporting may be associated with measurements using Layer 3 type measurements and reporting using L1 type reports for LTM. In some aspects, one or more cells, from the one or more LTM candidate cells, may be selected (for example, by the UE or by a network node) for L1 measurement or reporting associated with the filtered measurement values. In some aspects, the UE may transmit an L1 measurement report indicating L1 measurement values of the one or more cells. A network node may perform one or more operations in response to the L1 measurement values.

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as a long term evolution (LTE). An operating method of a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system is provided. The operating method includes receiving a service through a first enhanced node B (eNB) for a first time interval period from a first timing point; and receiving the service through a second eNB for a second time interval period from a second timing point, wherein the first timing point is different from the second timing point.

Control method for supporting multiple connections in mobile communication system and apparatus for supporting multiple connections

Disclosed are a control method for supporting multiple connections in a mobile communication system and an apparatus for supporting multiple connections. In the method for supporting the multiple connections to be performed in first and second base stations, a first base station receives the measured results for multiple connections from a terminal, determines whether the plurality of connections are set on the basis of the measured results, transmits the information for setting the multiple connections to the second base station when setting the multiple results, and the second base station generates the control information for setting the multiple connections of the terminal on the basis of the information for setting the multiple connections received from the first base station. Thus, the multiple connections can be easily supported and the performance of the mobile communication system can be improved therethrough.

Handoff target selection based on media type

An LTE base station facilitates handoffs in an LTE communication system. The LTE base station is configured to exchange session communications with a UE and receive session information transmitted from an LTE communication control system, the session information including a media type of the communication session and a vector associated with the UE. The LTE base station is further configured to identify a plurality of candidate base stations within a proximity threshold to a path of the vector associated with the UE, poll the plurality of candidate base stations for capability information, process the capability information to determine a set of the candidate base stations that support the media type of the communication session, select a target base station for a handoff from the set of the candidate base stations that support the media type, and instruct the UE to initiate the handoff to the target base station.
