Electronic device for filtering packet and method for operating same
According to various embodiments, an electronic device comprises a communication processor, an application processor operatively connected to the communication processor, and a memory, wherein the at least one memory may store instructions configured to, when executed, cause the application processor to identify a user identifier (UID) corresponding to at least one allowed application or at least one disallowed application when the electronic device enters a power saving state and to generate, on the basis of the user identifier, a first packet filter program which includes at least one condition for filtering a packet, and cause the communication processor to identify the first packet filter program generated from the application processor and to filter at least one packet associated with an application other than the at least one allowed application or at least one packet associated with the at least one disallowed application by using the first packet filter program, while the electronic device is in the power saving state. Various other embodiments are possible.
Selective hibernation of activities in an electronic device
In an electronic device capable of running multiple software applications concurrently, applications, documents, cards, or other activities can be selected for hibernation so as to free up system resources for other activities that are in active use. A determination is made as to which activities should hibernate, for example based on a determination as to which activities have not been used recently or based on relative resource usage. When an activity is to hibernate, its state is preserved on a storage medium such as a disk, so that the activity can later be revived in the same state and the user can continue with the same task that was being performed before the activity entered hibernation.
NETWORK-BASED CONTROL METHOD FOR POWER CONSUMPTION OF APPLICATIONS, TERMINAL AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A network-based control method for power consumption of an application, a terminal device and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are disclosed. The network-based control method may include: identifying a target application having a frequent wakeup or heartbeat detection behavior in response to a freezing function being enabled; monitoring whether a peer server to which the target application is connected is accessible; and freezing the target application by the freezing function in response to the peer server being inaccessible.
Device-Assisted Services for Protecting Network Capacity
Device Assisted Services (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided. In some embodiments, DAS for protecting network capacity includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication; classifying the network service usage activity for differential network access control for protecting network capacity; and associating the network service usage activity with a network service usage control policy based on a classification of the network service usage activity to facilitate differential network access control for protecting network capacity.
Device Group Partitions and Settlement Platform
Device group partitions and a settlement platform are provided. In some embodiments, device group partitions (e.g., partitions of devices based on associated device groups) are provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform service is provided for partitioned devices. In some embodiments, collecting device generated service usage information for one or more devices in wireless communication on a wireless network; and aggregating the device generated service usage information for a settlement platform for the one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network is provided. In some embodiments, a settlement platform implements a service billing allocation and/or a service/transactional revenue share among one or more partners. In some embodiments, service usage information includes micro-CDRs, which are used for CDR mediation or reconciliation that provides for service usage accounting on any device activity that is desired. In some embodiments, each device activity that is desired to be associated with a billing event is assigned a micro-CDR transaction code, and a service processor of the device is programmed to account for that activity associated with that transaction code. In some embodiments, a service processor executing on a wireless communications device periodically reports (e.g., during each heartbeat or based on any other periodic, push, and/or pull communication technique(s)) micro-CDR usage measures to, for example, a service controller or some other network element for CDR mediation or reconciliation.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, DEVICE, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing method, a device, an apparatus, and a computer readable storage medium are provided, related to the technical field of communication, so as to save the electric quantity of relay UE. The method includes the following steps: sending assistant information to a second relay UE through a direct communication interface, where the assistant information is configured to enable the second relay UE to enable or disable a relay function of the second relay UE.
Temperature restricted mode for cellular enhancement
A method, a device, and an integrated circuit utilizes a temperature restricted mode. The method includes determining a temperature of the device. When the temperature is below a first threshold, the method includes enabling a first mode comprising select network operations. When the temperature is above a brick threshold, the method includes enabling a second mode comprising disabling the select network operations. When the temperature is above the first threshold and below the brick threshold, the method includes enabling a third mode comprising modifying at least one of the select network operations.
METHOD FOR REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION OF TERMINAL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM USING MULTI-CARRIER STRUCTURE
A method for reducing power consumption of a terminal that communicates with a base station in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier sturcture composed of a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier comprises: receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter group for multi carriers from the base station; and setting the multi carriers to the same parameter value, by using the received parameter group. The method for reducing power consumption of the terminal further comprises: performing a downlink control channel receive operation on each carrier according to a DRX cycle. As the base station in the mobile communication system using the multi-carrier structure simplifies the DRX process for reducing power consumption of a terminal by reducing signaling load for the multi-carrier control of the terminal, it becomes possible to reduce power consumption of the terminal.
