One method determines, in a first mode, a first value associated with a wireless link and a second values associated with the wireless link, the first value being indicative of a first metric and the second value being indicative of a second metric different from the first metric. The first value and the second value collectively indicate a category of channel quality for the wireless link. The method determines that the wireless device can operate in a second mode for subsequent data based on the category of channel quality, wherein in the second mode the wireless device consumes less power than in the first power mode. The method receives, in the second mode, second data over the wireless link.

An operating method of a wireless communication device configured to perform wireless communication with a cell. The method involves identifying, from a downlink signal received from the cell, an electromagnetic field state associated with an antenna of the wireless communication device. A power compensation mode for compensating transmission power of a sounding reference signal is selected based on the identified electromagnetic field state. The transmission power of the sounding reference signal is compensated based on the selected power compensation mode. The sounding reference signal is transmitted with the compensated transmission power through the antenna to the cell.

Power control in full duplex communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications that support power control in full duplex communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may experience antenna isolation for communication of downlink and uplink data traffic. Based on the antenna isolation, the UE may realize an increased channel capacity for full-duplex communication. As part of the full-duplex communication, the UE may identify characteristics of a potential downlink signal on formatted slots of the channel. The UE may determine an uplink transmit power control configured to account for the characteristics. The determination may include a configured transmit power control for beamformed signaling at the UE, and may be based on signal reception quality for potential downlink transmissions. Based on the determination, the UE may either perform uplink transmission on a resource block allocation of the formatted slots or forgo uplink transmission.

Techniques for selecting an uplink beam

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may transmit a set of reference signals to a first wireless node; receive information identifying a transmit power capability of the first wireless node based at least in part on transmitting the set of reference signals; and configure one or more transmission parameters for a first link with the first wireless node or a second link with a second wireless node based at least in part on the transmit power capability of the first wireless node. In some aspects, a transmitter node may predict a future state associated with a wireless channel at a future time instance using a machine learning model, wherein the future state is predicted based at least in part on one or more of weights associated with the machine learning model, a current state associated with the wireless channel, or one or more previous states associated with the wireless channel. The transmitter node may select one or more parameters for a transmission to occur at the future time instance based at least in part on the future state associated with the wireless channel.
