The present disclosure provides a power control method in device to device (D2D) communication and a user equipment for performing the power control method. The method includes computing a power value of device to device (D2D) transmission of a user equipment performing D2D communication in a subframe in a serving cell, based on a power control adjustment state of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) wide area network (WAN) uplink channel of the user equipment and an offset or a ratio indicated by a transmit power control (TPC) command indicated in D2D grant or downlink control information (DCI) format 3/3A.

POWER HEADROOM REPORTING WITH DUAL CONNECTIVITY

Embodiments described herein relate generally to a communication between a user equipment (“UE”) and a plurality of evolved Node Bs (“eNBs”). A UE may be adapted to operate in a dual connected mode on respective wireless cells provided by first and second eNBs. The UE may be adapted to estimate respective power headroom (“PHR”) values associated with simultaneous operation on the first and second wireless cells. The UE may cause the first and second PHR estimates to be transmitted to both the first and second eNBs. The first and second eNBs may use these estimates to compute respective uplink transmission powers for the UE. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

SIDELINK COORDINATION FOR POWER CONTROL

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some cases, a first user equipment (UE) within a coverage area of a base station may determine a power control configuration. The first UE may transmit an indication of the power control configuration to a second UE, which may adjust one or more power control parameters based on the indication. The one or more power control parameters may include a target received power, a compensation factor, a downlink path loss between the base station and the first UE, or a combination thereof. The second UE may use the adjusted one or more power control parameters to determine a transmit power and may transmit a message to the first UE with the determined transmit power. In some cases, the second UE may be outside of the coverage area of the base station.

PRIMARY PUCCH TPC INDEX AND A SECONDARY PUCCH TPC INDEX IN A WIRELESS NETWORK

A wire device receives: configuration parameters of: a primary cell with a primary physical uplink control channel (PUCCH); and a secondary cell with a secondary PUCCH; a transmit power control (TPC) radio network temporary identifier (RNTI); a primary TPC index of the primary PUCCH; and a secondary TPC index of the secondary PUCCH. The wireless device receives a downlink control information (DCI) associated with the TPC RNTI. The secondary TPC index identifies a TPC command in an array of TPC commands in the DCI. The wireless device adjusts a transmission power of the secondary PUCCH based on the TPC command.

A transmission point (TP) comprises a processor configured to generate a transmission parameter related to a desired transmission property, wherein the transmission parameter comprises at least one of a transmission rank, a beamforming matrix, a transmission power, and an on/off status, and a transmitter coupled to the processor and configured to transmit the transmission parameter as part of a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) scheme.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATING CABLE ATTENUATION BETWEEN A SATELLITE TERMINAL AND A RADIO ACROSS A FREQUENCY SPECTRUM

A very small aperture terminal (VSAT) installation tool is provided having the ability to measure cable loss along an interfacility link (IFL) between an outdoor unit and an indoor unit of the VSAT. Radio frequency (RF) signals can be transmitted from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit, where the RF signals are intercepted along the IFL prior to reaching the outdoor unit, and the output power is determined. The determined output power is compared to an expected output power at the indoor unit. The delta between the determined output power and the expected output power can be used to adjust the power of the indoor unit such that the outdoor unit can operate without reaching its compression point. The determined output power can be extrapolated based upon measured of the output power performed over a range of frequencies at which the indoor unit operates.

Method and apparatus for accessing an uplink random access channel in a singular carrier frequency division multiple access system

A method and apparatus for accessing a contention-based uplink random access channel (RACH) in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) randomly selects a RACH subchannel and a signature among a plurality of available RACH subchannels and signatures. The WTRU transmits a preamble using the selected signature via the selected RACH subchannel at a predetermined or computed transmission power. A base station monitors the RACH to detect the preamble and sends an acquisition indicator (AI) to the WTRU when a signature is detected on the RACH. When receiving a positive acknowledgement, the WTRU sends a message part to the base station. If receiving a negative acknowledgement or no response, the WTRU retransmits the preamble.

UPLINK POWER CONTROL

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for uplink power control. One method includes: receiving a message that configures a set of resources that each includes a downlink resource or an uplink sounding resource and is associated with an uplink transmission beam pattern; receiving scheduling information for an uplink transmission that is associated with a resource of the set of resources; determining an uplink transmission beam pattern associated with the resource; determining a configured maximum output power for the uplink transmission beam pattern that is based on an antenna array property associated with the uplink transmission beam pattern; determining a transmit power for the uplink transmission based on the configured maximum output power; and performing the uplink transmission using the uplink transmission beam pattern based on the transmit power.

Methods and arrangements in a wireless communication system

The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in a wireless communication system, and in particular to uplink outer loop power control. A Node B identifies if a UE from which the Node B receives data is in a predetermined set of power challenged situations. The Node B transmits to the RNC an indication to hold the SIR target of the UE if the UE has been identified to be in a power challenged situation. As a consequence, the uplink outer loop power control (OLPC) procedure in the RNC will not change the SIR target of the UE. This implies that the output power level of the UE remains unchanged as long as the UE remains in the power challenged situation. Thus, user and network performance are improved in the wireless communication system.
