Battery temperature adjusting system and operating method thereof

The present invention relates to a battery temperature adjusting system including: a battery unit having a heating pad; a leading wire connected to the battery unit; and a current induction unit surrounding the leading wire, wherein the current induction unit is electrically connected to the heating pad. The battery temperature adjusting system according to the present invention generates the induced current by applying the current induction unit surrounding the leading wire connected to the battery unit, and increases the temperature of the battery unit by supplying the induced current to the heating pad, thereby obtaining a desired battery output in a low-temperature region even without the use of an external power source.

A cold vehicle sensor condition can be determined, and the sensor associated with one or more heat source subsystems that provide a heat byproduct during normal operation of the subsystem. At least some of the heat byproduct can be diverted to heat the sensor. The heat source subsystem selected can be based on a proximity to the associated sensor.

The plurality of heat generating elements may be in form of one or more layers of electrically conductive elements disposed on the base medium. The heat generating elements may be arranged in various configurations with respect to the electricity conducting electrodes to maximize the heating effect and suit different shapes of different components to be applied with the temperature manipulating apparatus.

The control unit is configured: to determine whether energization to the glass heating apparatus is performed when heating of the first part is requested; to control so that energization to the heating wire is performed when it is determined that the energization to glass heating apparatus is not performed; and to control energization to the heating wire so that an amount of energization to the heating wire is reduced when it is determined that energization to the glass heating apparatus is performed.

The method includes the steps of detecting with a processor that a warming cart battery voltage is out of range of a predetermined threshold, determining with a processor an operation state of each of a plurality of periphery warming cart devices, and automatically setting a battery scale of a warming cart battery based on which of the plurality of periphery warming cart devices are in an active operation state.

A frozen accumulation detection assembly and method of operation for a motor vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a light source for emitting light on a surface of the motor vehicle, such as running board, and a sensor for measuring a reflectance level of the light off of the surface of the motor vehicle. The assembly further includes a heating element coupled to the surface of the motor vehicle. The reflectance level may be used as an indicator of frozen accumulation on the surface of the motor vehicle, and may help determine if the heating element should be energized.
