The heat exchanger blocks may be fabricated by extruding aluminum. The heaters may be independently powered. At least a portion of the inlet capacity control valve may be located within one of the conduits.

An aerosol-generating system may include a liquid storage portion configured to hold liquid aerosol-forming substrate, a vaporizer including a heating element with an internal passage at least partially defined by a surface of the heating element, and a micro pump configured to deliver liquid aerosol-forming substrate from the liquid storage portion to the internal passage of the heating element, such that the vaporizer is configured to heat the delivered liquid aerosol-forming substrate at the internal passage to a temperature sufficient to volatilize at least a part of the delivered liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The micro pump may be configured to deliver a particular amount of liquid aerosol-forming substrate to the internal passage based on the micro pump performing an individual pump cycle.

Vaporizer device with differential pressure sensor

A vaporizer device may include a pressure sensor and an ambient pressure sensor. The pressure sensor may be configured to measure a first pressure in an air flow path in the vaporizer device. The ambient pressure sensor may be configured to measure a second pressure corresponding to an atmospheric pressure. The vaporizer device may further include a controller. The controller may be configured to transition the vaporizer device to a first standby mode when the first pressure is equal to or greater than the second pressure for a first threshold quantity of time. While the vaporizer device is in the first standby mode, the controller may be further configured to transition the vaporizer device to a second standby mode when the second pressure is a threshold quantity greater than the first pressure and no motion event is detected for a second threshold quantity of time.

An aerosol delivery device and a substrate tablet for use with an inductively-heated aerosol delivery device are provided. The aerosol delivery device comprises a control body having a housing, a mouthpiece portion located proximate the housing, a resonant transmitter located in the control body, a control component configured to drive the resonant transmitter, and a substrate tablet receivable in the device. The substrate tablet may comprise a granular substrate material and a susceptor component, the substrate material and the susceptor component may be configured to be formed together, and the susceptor component may be configured to be heated by the resonant transmitter.

The cartridge also includes a heating element located in the interior of the housing, wherein the heating element is configured to vaporize a solution for oral provision to the individual. The vaporizer may also include a power harvesting device operative to acquire energy from the environment for use with powering the heating element.

An inductive heating device (1) for heating an aerosol-forming substrate (20) comprising a susceptor (21) comprises: a device housing (10) a DC power source (11) for providing a DC supply voltage (V.sub.DC) and a DC current (I.sub.DC) a power supply electronics (13) comprising a DC/AC converter (132), the DC/AC converter (132) comprising an LC load network (1323) comprising a series connection of a capacitor (C2) and an inductor (L2) having an ohmic resistance (R.sub.Coil), a cavity (14) in the device housing (10) for accommodating a portion of the aerosol-forming substrate (20) to inductively couple the inductor (L2) of the LC load network (1323) to the susceptor (21). The power supply electronics (13) further comprises a microcontroller (131) to determine from the DC supply voltage (V.sub.DC) and the DC current (I.sub.DC) an apparent ohmic resistance (R.sub.a), and from the apparent ohmic resistance (R.sub.a) the temperature (T) of the susceptor (21).

Flexible aerosol-generating devices

An aerosol-generating device may include a housing having flexible portion along its length. The flexible portion is configured to transition between a relaxed or unloaded configuration and a flexed or deflected configuration. A flexible heating element and mouthpiece may also be disposed in the housing. When the housing is in a relaxed or unloaded configuration, the flexible heating element and the mouthpiece are at least partially longitudinally aligned with the flexible portion of the housing.
