An apparatus and a method of use are disclosed herein. The apparatus comprises a disaggregated fault tolerant backplane having a front side and a back side with at least two daughter card slots configured on the front side and configured to receive slot fanout signals over the backplane. The apparatus further comprises at least two switch boards (SBs) configured to provide electrical power to the at least two daughter card slots and at least one main fanout board (MFB) configured to send and receive SB control signals to and from the at least two SBs. The at least one MFB connects to the backplane through at least one MFB connector configured on the back side of the backplane. In one embodiment, the MFB receives control signals from the daughter card slots and sends slot fanout signals to the daughter card slots.

The backplane assembly includes a plurality of backplanes arranged in parallel at intervals, the front inserting assembly includes a plurality of first units whose arrangement direction is the same as an arrangement direction of the backplanes, and the rear inserting assembly includes a plurality of second units whose arrangement direction intersects the arrangement direction of the backplanes. The backplane assembly is provided with the structure including the plurality of backplanes arranged in parallel at intervals and the channel between adjacent backplanes. In addition, the first units and the second units are connected to two opposite sides of the backplanes, respectively.

In one example, a connector has a horizontal plane board having a plurality of memory connectors aligned in a row and a plurality of external interfaces, a plurality of memory cards, each having an edge connector at one end of the memory card to connect to a respective memory connector of the board, each memory card extending horizontally parallel to each other memory card and extending vertically and orthogonally from the board, and a plurality of interface connectors each to connect an edge connector to a respective board connector, the interface connectors extending horizontally from the one end of the memory cards and vertically to the respective plane board connector.

Orthogonal cross-connecting of printed circuit boards without a midplane board

A line card of a set of line cards is configured to be coupled to a set of switch-fabric cards to collectively define at least a portion of an orthogonal cross fabric without a midplane board. The line card has an edge portion, a first side and a second side, opposite the first side. The line card includes a set of first set of connectors and a second set of connectors. The first set of connectors is disposed along the edge portion on the first side of the line card and the second set of connectors is disposed along the edge portion on the second side of the line card.

The presence of the support unit is detected by the primary chassis management controller, the primary chassis management controller is one of a plurality of chassis management controllers that are installed in the rack; and the plurality of chassis management controllers includes a plurality of secondary chassis management controllers. The technique includes accessing network switch forwarding table data; and based on the network switch forwarding table data and the identifier for the support unit, identifying a given secondary chassis management controller to which the support unit is connected by a network cable.

The frame shuffle also includes a routing device to optically interconnect the resource devices and another group of resource devices of the adjacent frame. The frame shuffle also includes a frame shuffle fan to provide fresh air through the frame shuffle and direct exhaust air through the midplane.
