FIRE PREVENTION IN A NETWORK DEVICE WITH REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLIES
A device may include multiple power supplies that are cooled by a system fan. The power supplies may be cross-connected to supply power to one another and the device may monitor temperatures of the power supplies. Based on the temperatures of the power supplies, the device may determine whether any of the power supplies are likely to be on fire. The device may shut off the fan when a power supply is determined to be likely to be on fire.
Electromagnetic interference containment system
A chassis includes a flash module comprising a cover and an integrated connector, a metal stiffener, an electromagnetic interference (EMI) gasket, and a midplane. The flash module is connected to the midplane using the integrated connector, the integrated connector extends past the cover of the flash module, and, when the flash module is connected to the midplane, the cover of the flash module is in direct contact with the EMI gasket, in which the metal stiffener is interposed between the EMI gasket and the midplane.
Perpendicular and Orthogonal Interconnection System and Communications Device
An interconnection system includes a first board group, a second board group orthogonal to the first board group, and a center backplane arranged between the first board group and the second board group. The first board group includes a number of first boards parallel to each other and the second board group includes a number of second boards parallel to each other. Curved male connectors re arranged on each of the first boards and curved female connectors are arranged on each of the second boards. The curved male connectors and the curved female connectors directly cooperate and are connected in one-to-one correspondence
Modular chassis with floating midplane carrier
A split chassis with a floating midplane carrier is provided. The split chassis is a modular electronic chassis which includes a first chassis section and a midplane carrier floatingly mounted to the first chassis section. The modular electronic chassis further includes a second chassis section mounted to the first chassis section, with the midplane carrier mounted between the first chassis section and the second chassis section.

Computer system with groups of processor boards
A computer system includes a plurality of printed circuit boards, each printed circuit board having one or more processor chips attached to the printed circuit board, wherein the number of printed circuit boards is an even number greater than or equal to 4, wherein the printed circuit boards are arranged in two groups, each group being arranged in a different stacking direction, and wherein the one or more processor chips which are attached to each one of the printed circuit boards of one of the groups are connected for communication to the processor chips of each printed circuit board of the other group.
Cabinet for housing electronic plug-in cards and method of assembly
A cabinet for housing electronic plug-in cards has front and rear card baskets for inserting plug-in cards and first and second vertical backplanes. The front side of the first backplane faces the front of the cabinet and the front side of the second backplane faces the back of the cabinet. A distance piece connects the two backplanes and a counterbore is disposed in at least one of the rear sides of the two backplanes. The depth of the counterbore or the residual thicknesses of the backplane after drilling the counterbore is sized such that the distance between the front side of the second backplane and the front of the cabinet is a predetermined value. This ensures that the plug-in cards pushed onto the second backplane are completely received inside the rear card basket and the front plate of the plug-in cards ends flush with the rear card basket.
