Method and apparatus for protection of network device during increase in environmental contamination
In one embodiment, a method includes initiating a protection mode at a network device having a protective cover installed to filter airflow entering a network device, reducing one or more of a fan speed, processing functions, or power at the network device, exiting the protection mode upon removal of the protective cover from the network device, and increasing one or more of the fan speed, the processing functions, or the power to resume normal operation at the network device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DATACENTER THERMAL MANAGEMENT
A thermal management system for cooling a computing device includes a cold aisle, a hot aisle, a radiator, and a plurality of source heat sinks thermally conductively connected to the radiator. The radiator connects the cold aisle to the hot aisle and flows a cooling fluid through an interior volume of the radiator. Each source heat sink is configured to connect to a heat-generating electronic component to thermally conductively connect the heat-generating component to a surface of the radiator.
Air and liquid cooling of electronic equipment based on a selected hybrid cooling profile
In some examples, a controller for air and liquid cooling of electrical equipment is provided. The controller can include a cooling profile assignment module to assign a hybrid cooling profile based on temperature readings of electrical equipment; an air cooling control module to control a forced airflow cooling system for the electrical equipment in accordance with the assigned hybrid cooling profile; and a liquid cooling control module to control a liquid cooling system for the electrical equipment in accordance with the assigned hybrid cooling profile. The assigned hybrid cooling profile can indicate that the forced airflow cooling system is to be used as a primary cooling system for the electrical equipment unless temperature readings indicate that a heat profile of the electrical equipment is above a thermal threshold.
Rack mounted equipment with rear post mounted air filter panels
An air filtration panel is used in an information handling system (IHS) rack within a modular data center. The air filtration panel includes an air filter and a filter frame. The filter frame has a lateral width at least as wide as a transverse opening in a four-post rack. The four-post rack has left and right flanges respectively coupled to a pair of posts of the four-post rack. Each of the left and right flanges has vertically aligned holes. The filter frame includes a channel that receives and contains an outer edge of the air filter. The filter frame left and right surfaces each having fastener through-holes spaced to align with and mount to respective holes in the corresponding one of the left and right flanges of the four-post rack.
Technologies for switching network traffic in a data center
Technologies for switching network traffic include a network switch. The network switch includes one or more processors and communication circuitry coupled to the one or more processors. The communication circuitry is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Apparatus for housing storage processor, and storage server
An apparatus for housing a storage processor includes first and second side portions each extending in a plane defined by a first direction and a second direction, and separated from each other in a third direction; first and second flapper components disposed between the first side portion and the second side portion, extending in a first plane and a second plane, respectively, and rotatable about a first axis and a second axis, respectively, the first flapper component coupled to the first side portion and having a first end face, the second flapper component coupled to the second side portion and having a second end face; and first and second magnetic components disposed in the first end face and the second end face, respectively, and configured to be coupled to each other by a magnetic force so as to couple the first end face to the second end face.
Storage chassis
This disclosure provides storage chassis including base storage sub-assemblies and partitions. Base includes bottom plate, top plate, first side plate and second side plate. Front side of bottom plate is opposite to back side of bottom plate. Bottom plate is located opposite to top plate. First side plate is located opposite to second side plate. First side plate and second side plate are connected to and located between bottom plate and top plate. Storage sub-assemblies are movably disposed between first side plate and second side plate. Partitions are disposed between first side plate and second side plate. Opposite ends of each partition are respectively connected to top plate and bottom plate. Partitions separate storage sub-assemblies from one another so that storage sub-assemblies are respectively located in airflow channels that are independent to one another.
Computer server cabinet portable louver system
A louver assembly for removable connection to a server cabinet, the louver assembly including at least one removable louver system and each louver system including a louver frame having an opening, a plurality of louvers removably connected to the louver frame and extending across the opening of the louver frame and at least one connector for removably attaching the removable louver system to the server cabinet. The louvers may be adjustable to more efficiently move air toward an inlet of an HVAC system or from an exhaust of the HVAC system to the server cabinet.
SWITCH CABINET WITH A CLOSING ELEMENT PRETENSIONED INTO AN OPEN POSITION
The invention relates to a switch cabinet having a housing and a door which is pivotally secured thereto via at least one hinge and has a door leaf, wherein the door leaf has an aperture and a closing element which closes the aperture and is held in a closed position, counter to its mechanical pretension in the direction of its open position, by an electrically controllable locking element.
CHASSIS STRUCTURE, SERVER, AND METHOD OF DISSIPATING HEAT FROM SERVER
The invention provides a chassis structure, a server, and a method of dissipating heat from server. The chassis structure comprises chassis body, two fan components, two tray components, and a power supply. The chassis body defines a receiving space bounded by two spaced partitions, the two partitions divide the receiving space into a middle cavity and two side cavities. The fan components are at one end of each side cavity and are connected to the chassis body. The two tray components carry slots for inserting hard disks. The power supply is arranged in the middle cavity and supplies power to the hard disks inserted in the slots, the power supply also has a fan, the power supply positioned at one end of the middle cavity.
