An upright vacuum cleaner (1) is provided, including a brushroll assembly (100), a motor assembly (200) and a body assembly (300). The brushroll assembly (200) includes a brushroll casing (12) and a brushroll (11). The motor assembly (200) includes a motor housing (21) and a motor (22), and the motor (22) drives the brushroll (11) to roll via a drive belt (13). The body assembly (300) includes a body (31) and a bridging member (32) mounted to the body (31), and the bridging member (32) is pivotably connected with the motor housing (21) to allow the body (31) to be rotatable between an upright position and an oblique position. When the body (31) is rotated from the upright position to the oblique position, the bridging member (32) pushes the brushroll casing (12) to move in a direction running away from the motor housing (21) so as to tension the drive belt (13).

An upright vacuum cleaner (1) includes a brushroll (11); a motor assembly (200) including a motor housing (21) and a motor (22), in which a rotating axis of the motor (22) and a rotating axis of the brushroll (11) are disposed in a non-parallel manner, and the motor (22) drives the brushroll (11) rolling by a drive belt (13) and is rotatable between a first upright position of tensioning the drive belt (13) and a first oblique position of loosening the drive belt (13); a body assembly (300) including a body (31), a bridging member (32) and a dirt cup (37) mounted on the body (31), in which the bridging member (32) is rotatably connected with the motor housing (21) to make the body (31) rotatable between a second upright position and a second oblique position, and the motor (22) is moved by the bridging member (32) from the first oblique position to the first upright position when the body (31) moves from the second upright position to the second oblique position.

A floor brush assembly for an upright vacuum cleaner (1) and an upright vacuum cleaner (1) having the same are provided, in which the floor brush assembly for the upright vacuum cleaner (1) includes: a brushroll (11); and an electric motor (22) having a rotation axis disposed non-parallel to a rotation axis of the brushroll (11), and configured to drive the brushroll (11) to roll by a drive belt (13).

A vacuum cleaner includes a foot assembly having a suction inlet thereon, a suction source in fluid communication with the suction inlet to produce a working airflow there through, and a dirt container in fluid communication with the suction inlet and suction source. The foot assembly further comprises a body defined by a central portion and a pair of extension arms, a rotatable agitator on each extension arm, and a drive assembly configured to counter-rotate the agitators. The counter-rotating agitators are operable to cooperate with the suction source to direct dust and debris towards the suction inlet.

A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner includes: a body having a proximal end and a distal end; an agitator, an axis of rotation R1 of the agitator being substantially parallel to a longitudinal direction of the body; a motor configured to cause the agitator to rotate; and a joint configured to turnably connect a suction pipe to the body. The joint is positioned closer to the proximal end than to the distal end. The body includes a second suction channel configured to communicate with a first suction channel inside the joint, and a bulkhead configured to separate an agitator chamber and the second suction channel from each other. The second suction channel extends substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the agitator. The bulkhead includes at least one air vent from the agitator chamber to the second suction channel.

Provided are a floor brush assembly for a vacuum cleaner and the vacuum cleaner. The floor brush assembly includes a roller brush component and a driving mechanism. The roller brush component includes a sleeve and a roller brush body rotatably mounted in the sleeve. The roller brush body is provided with bristles. The driving mechanism includes a power source and a transmission component. The transmission component includes a first driving member, a second driving member, and a driving wheel connected to the power source. The driving wheel is connected to the first driving member through a transmission shaft to drive the roller brush body to rotate. The driving wheel is connected to the second driving member through a linkage structure to drive the sleeve to rotate. The first driving member and the second driving member are eccentrically arranged to allow the bristles to be selectively extended out of or retracted into the sleeve.

Disclosed herein is a vacuum cleaner including a brush to rotate and collect foreign materials on the floor, and a grinder to grind the foreign materials collected through the brush. Since the hair-like foreign materials wound around the brush are grinded and cut by the grinders, a cleaning cycle of the brush can be extended.

A surface cleaning apparatus is provided with a primary fluid distributor and an auxiliary fluid distributor. Each distributor can have a separate and independent flow control actuator. The flow control actuator for the auxiliary fluid distributor is operably coupled with a push-push flow control mechanism, where push-push flow control mechanism has a push on/push off configuration such that pushing the auxiliary flow control actuator once starts fluid flow from the auxiliary fluid distributor and subsequently pushing the auxiliary flow control actuator again stops fluid flow from the auxiliary fluid distributor.

The foot assembly further comprises a body defined by a central portion and a pair of extension arms, a rotatable agitator on each extension arm, and a drive assembly configured to counter-rotate the agitators. The counter-rotating agitators are operable to cooperate with the suction source to direct dust and debris towards the suction inlet.

A brushroll for a surface cleaning apparatus includes a brush dowel defining an axis and having opposing bristle supports and a shroud surface between the opposing bristle supports, and a plurality of bristles protruding from the bristle supports. The shroud surface includes opposing convex curved surfaces extending between the bristle supports which intersect the shroud surface at outside corners.
