A cleaner includes a case having an opening formed in a lower side. The cleaner also includes a brush assembly disposed inside the case. The brush assembly includes a horizontally disposed brush bar and a brush coupled to the brush bar. The cleaner includes a suction port for suctioning dust collected by the brush assembly. The cleaner also includes a motor that provides power to the brush assembly. Further, the cleaner includes an operation assembly, connecting the motor and the brush assembly, and converting a rotational movement of the motor into a translational motion of the brush assembly. The operation assembly includes a rotating member coupled to a shaft of the motor, a link connected to the rotating member, a connecting member connecting the brush bar and the link, and a guide rail for guiding the connecting member in a longitudinal direction.

A cleaning apparatus includes a combing unit including a series of spaced protrusions or teeth extending into a cleaning roller for preventing build up and removing debris (such as hair, string, and the like). The protrusions extend along a substantial portion of the cleaning roller and extend partially into the cleaning roller to intercept the debris as it passes around the roller. The protrusions have angled leading edges that are not aligned with a rotation center of the cleaning roller and are directed into or against a direction of rotation of the cleaning roller. The combing unit and protrusions have a shape and configuration designed to facilitate debris removal from the cleaning roller with minimal impact on the operation of the cleaning apparatus. The cleaning apparatus may include a surface cleaning head of an upright vacuum cleaner or sweeper or a robotic vacuum cleaner.

A cleaning robot, a bristle control method and a bristle control device, and a computer storage medium are provided. The cleaning robot includes a robot body, an side brush assembly disposed on the robot body, and a controller disposed on the robot body and configured to control a target bristle of the side brush assembly to be limited in a designated area. In embodiments of this application, the target bristle of the side brush assembly is limited in the designated area to prevent, as much as possible, the target bristle from exceeding out of the cleaning robot and affecting the appearance of the cleaning robot.

A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaning appliance includes a housing, a front agitator and a rear agitator. A suction chamber is located between the front agitator and the rear agitator. A baffle is located within the suction chamber between the agitators. During use of the cleaner head, debris becomes entrained within air drawn towards the suction chamber. Guide members mounted on the housing guide the entrained debris towards the suction chamber, whereas the baffle guides the air upwardly towards a central suction port of the suction chamber.

A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaning appliance includes a housing which defines a suction chamber. The suction chamber has a suction inlet through which air enters the suction chamber, and a suction port through which air exits the suction chamber. The cleaner head includes a plurality of casters for supporting the cleaner head. Each caster is rotatable relative to the housing about a first axis which is perpendicular to the suction inlet. Each caster is also rotatable relative to the housing about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis.

A method of operating a mobile robot includes generating a segmentation map defining respective regions of a surface based on occupancy data that is collected by a mobile robot responsive to navigation of the surface, identifying sub-regions of at least one of the respective regions as non-clutter and clutter areas, and computing a coverage pattern based on identification of the sub-regions. The coverage pattern indicates a sequence for navigation of the non-clutter and clutter areas, and is provided to the mobile robot. Responsive to the coverage pattern, the mobile robot sequentially navigates the non-clutter and clutter areas of the at least one of the respective regions of the surface in the sequence indicated by the coverage pattern. Related methods, computing devices, and computer program products are also discussed.

A cleaner includes a cleaner main body, and a suction unit connected to the cleaner main body to suck air containing dust, and provided with a brush assembly brought into contact with a floor, wherein the brush assembly includes a rotating rod rotatable in one direction, a brush portion protruding from an outer circumferential surface of the rotating rod to rotate together with the rotating rod, and a blade erected at the rear of the brush portion in the one direction to be adjacent to the brush portion, and brought into contact with the brush portion during the rotation in the one direction, to prevent foreign substances from getting tangled in the brush portion. This configuration may prevent foreign substances such as hair and the like from being tangled in the brush portion during an operation of the cleaner.

A robotic vacuum cleaner having a nozzle arranged in a portion of a housing facing a surface to be cleaned. The nozzle has a leading edge portion having channels leading to the suction opening at two different heights from the surface.

A cleaning head for a floor cleaner including a housing, a brushroll, a suction inlet, and a mounting plate. The mounting plate includes an edge brush adjacent the suction inlet and extending to a lateral side of the housing. The edge brush is configured to direct dirt and debris from the lateral side of the floor cleaner to the suction inlet.
