The magnetic arc deflection assembly facilitates reliable connection and disconnection of DC circuitry operating at a voltage well above 125 VDC with reduced arcing intensity and duration. The pairs of magnets may apply magnetic fields in directions opposing one another to deflect electrical arcs in different directions at different locations in the mechanical switch contact assembly to facilitate high voltage DC switching operation.

Provided herein are approaches for securing an electrical protection device (e.g., a fuse). In one approach, an apparatus includes a conductor and a terminal coupling the conductor to the fuse, wherein the terminal includes an end cap having a cavity for receiving and securing the conductor, and a set of contact elements extending from a base member. The base member may be coupled to the end cap, and a body of the fuse may be coupled to the base member. In some approaches, a fuse blade of the fuse is disposed between the set of contact elements. In some approaches, the apparatus further includes a cover adjacent the terminal, wherein the cover is configured to engage the contact elements to increase a contact force and electrical connection between the set of contact elements and the fuse blade.

Multiple element fuse

Approaches herein provide a multiple element fuse including a first fuse element having a first pair of terminals joined by a first fusible link, and a second fuse element including a second pair of terminals joined by a second fusible link. The first pair of terminals may be directly physically coupled with the second pair of terminals. In some embodiments, the first pair of terminals and the second pair of terminals are stacked relative to one another and joined by one or more linking elements, thus causing the first fusible link and the second fusible link to extend parallel to one another. In some embodiments, a first plurality of terminal pairs are integrally linked adjacent one another along a same plane, and then subsequently coupled to a second plurality of terminal pairs.

Fuse element

A fuse element including a pair of terminal sections positioned at opposite ends of the fuse element, a plurality of spaced parallel rows of elements connecting the terminal sections, and a plurality of fused sections formed in substantially central sections of the elements, wherein the terminal sections and the elements or the elements alone are formed by stamping a single metal plate to separate a piece having a predetermined shape therefrom and bending the piece into a predetermined three-dimensional shape.

Fuse

The invention provides a fuse that has a simple structure without having a flap included in a conventional fuse but can prevent a terminal of a different fuse from entering from an opening of an insulating housing. A fuse includes a pair of conductive terminals (10), a fuse element (30) including a fusing part (20) provided between the conductive terminals (10), and an insulating housing (40) covering the fusing part (20) and at least part of the conductive terminals (10) and having an open bottom end. The insulating housing (40) has an open end (50) provided, on an inner wall surface thereof, with a projection (60).

Fuse

The invention provides a fuse that has a simple structure without having a flap included in a conventional fuse but can prevent a terminal of a different fuse from entering from an opening of an insulating housing. Fuse, including at least one fuse blade, formed in a sheet having two opposite main faces extending along a longitudinal axis of the fuse blade, each fuse blade comprising a portion having a reduced section defining a plane transverse to the fuse blade. The fuse also includes arc guards made of a preformed elastic material and associated in pairs, the arc guards of the same pair being each located opposite one another on a respective main face of the same fuse blade. For at least a first pair of arc guards, a layer of adhesive is interposed between the fuse blade and an internal face of each arc guard of this pair, the internal face being oriented towards one of the main faces of the fuse blade, so as to fix each arc guard on the fuse blade.
