HOLLOW FUSE BODY WITH TRENCH

Provided herein are protection devices, such as fuses, including a set of trenches or pockets for retention of solder therein. In some embodiments, a fuse includes a body including a center portion extending between a first and second end portions. The first end portion includes a first trench formed in a first end surface, and the second end portion includes a second trench formed in a second end surface. The fuse may further include a first and second endcaps surrounding respective first and second end portions. The fuse may include a fusible element disposed within a central cavity of the body, the fusible element extending between the first end surface and the second end surface. In some embodiments, solder may be disposed within the first trench and the second trench, wherein the solder is in contact with the fusible element, the first endcap, or the second endcap.

HOLLOW FUSE BODY WITH NOTCHED ENDS

Hollow bodies and hollow body fuses are disclosed. Furthermore, methods to provide hollow bodies and hollow body fuses are disclosed. In one implementation, a hollow body includes a center portion and an end portion. An endcap may be coupled to the end portion. A cavity is formed between an inside surface of the endcap and an outer periphery of the end portion. A fusible element may be disposed within the hollow body, the fusible element may be further disposed within the cavity formed between the inside surface of the endcap and the outer periphery of the end portion, the fusible element traveling a substantially diagonal path through a center of the cavity.

ANTI-ROTATIONAL FUSE END CAP

A fuse assembly having an end cap that includes a recessed retention body. The recessed retention body can include first and second retention walls and an engagement surface. The first and second retention walls can extend at least in a generally outwardly direction from the retention surface to an outer surface of the end cap, and extend between first and second ends of the first end cap in a direction that is generally parallel to a central longitudinal axis of the fuse assembly. The engagement surface can have one or more walls that downwardly and outwardly extend in divergent directions from an apex of the engagement surface and toward a corresponding one of the first or second retention walls. The apex can be positioned at a central location between the first and second retention walls, and extends in a direction that is generally parallel to the central longitudinal axis.

High voltage cartridge fuse assembly

An electrical cartridge fuse including a cylindrical housing, first and second terminals coupled to the cylindrical housing, and a fuse element inside the housing and interconnected between the first and second terminals. The fuse element has a main body having at least five openings formed therein in a single line along a longitudinal axis of the fuse element, a guide element formed on a first end of the main body, and a hanger element formed on the second end of the main body. The cartridge fuse has a package size of about 6×32 mm and a voltage rating of at least 500 VADC, a 20 kA IR Rating, a current rating of 12 A to 30 A and a defined opening time at 100% rated current.
