MEDICAL DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS

According to one aspect, a medical device may be configured for use with an endoscope and may include a tool. The tool may include an actuator, at least one extension at a distal portion of the actuator, and a distal end. The at least one extension may extend radially outward from the actuator and may have an edge configured to fragment debris within a body. The medical device may also include a cap configured for coupling to a distal end of the endoscope, and the cap may include a body defining an opening and a cavity. The opening may be configured to align with optics of the endoscope, and the at least one extension may be positioned within the cavity of the body.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR ENDOSCOPE OR LAPAROSCOPIC MAGNETIC NAVIGATION

The invention provides systems, devices, and methods for the delivery, deployment, and positioning of magnetic compression devices at a desired site so as to improve the accuracy of anastomoses creation between tissues, organs, or the like.

ENDOSCOPIC DIAGNOSIS APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
20170354320 · 2017-12-14 · ·

There are provided an endoscopic diagnosis apparatus, image processing method, and recording medium that enable easy measurement of the size of a lesion portion or the like based on an endoscopic image captured through a normal operation without a special operation. A region detecting unit detects, from an endoscopic image, a region of an artificial object or the like that is in contact with a subject. An imaging size calculating unit calculates, in number of pixels, an imaging size in the endoscopic image of the region of the artificial object or the like that is in contact with the subject. A pixel size calculating unit calculates an actual size corresponding to one pixel. A scale generating unit generates scales indicating an actual size of the subject in the endoscopic image. A control unit performs control to combine the endoscopic image and the scales and to display.

DEVICE FOR TREATMENT OF DYSPHAGIA
20230181023 · 2023-06-15 ·

The present invention defines a device for the treatment of dysphagia comprising a flexible member mounting an imaging device for insertion into a patient and one or more electrodes proximate the imaging device for imparting electrical stimulation to the patient.

Protective cap for arthroscopic instruments
09833134 · 2017-12-05 · ·

A protective cap for use on arthroscopic instruments and sheaths disposed over arthroscopic instruments. The cap protects the distal end of the instrument from accidental damage caused by other instruments used during a surgical procedure. The cap has a flange disposed within an inner diameter of a bore within the cap to prevent the sheath from being pushed into the cap.

Balloon access device with features for engaging an endoscope
09833126 · 2017-12-05 · ·

A balloon access device for use with an endoscope is disclosed. A transparent balloon attached to the distal end of the endoscope allows a user to both separate collapsed intestinal tissue and visualize the path of the endoscope without administering insufflation gas to the collapsed area of a patient. The attachment of the balloon to the endoscope is achieved by the various embodiments of the balloon access device disclosed herein.

HANDHELD SURGICAL DEVICE AND SHAFT FOR A HANDHELD SURGICAL DEVICE

A shaft and a handheld surgical device have an optimized shape for accommodating an instrument. This is achieved in that a peripheral border of a distal opening of a shaft for a handheld surgical device has a thickening facing outward at least in sections. Cut injuries can be avoided by this thickening due to the rounded borders of the distal opening.

ENDOSCOPIC NEEDLE ASSEMBLY

A needle and suture assembly is provided for use with an endoscopic suturing device with a needle holder arm. The needle assembly includes a needle tip and a needle body. The needle tip has a sharp end. The needle body is tubular and has first and second ends and flexible tab retainers adjacent the second end for retaining the needle body relative to the needle holder arm. The tab retainers elastically deform to allow the needle body to be released from the needle holder arm upon application of force therebetween. The needle body has a suture opening located between the first end and the retainers. A suture extends into the suture opening of the needle body and is fixed therein.

DISTAL END HOOD FOR ENDOSCOPE
20170336621 · 2017-11-23 · ·

A distal end hood for an endoscope includes: a main body portion formed in a cylindrical shape in a longitudinal axis direction, wherein a distal end portion of an insertion portion of the endoscope is inserted inside through an opening on a proximal end side in the longitudinal axis direction, and the main body portion is formed such that part of a distal end surface in the longitudinal axis direction protrudes forward in the longitudinal axis direction; and a projection portion provided on an outer peripheral surface of the main body portion and formed in a rib shape extending toward a proximal end in the longitudinal axis direction from a protrusion end surface of a part of the distal end surface protruding in the longitudinal axis direction.
