AUTONOMOUS ULTRASOUND GUIDED ENDOSCOPE
A surgical system includes an endoscope, a computing device, a vacuum source, and a laser source. The endoscope defines an elongate body having an ultrasound sensor disposed on a distal portion thereof, a first channel defined through the elongate body defining a first aperture extending through the distal portion, a second channel defined through the elongate body defining a second aperture extending through the distal portion and having an optical waveguide disposed therein. The computing device includes a display screen and a processor having a memory storing a software application, which when executed, processes image data captured by the ultrasound sensor and displays a representation of the patient's anatomy on the display screen. The vacuum source is in fluid communication with the first channel to cause a stone to be retained against the distal portion of the endoscope. The laser source is in electromagnetic communication with the optical waveguide.
Endoscopy system and related methods
According to one aspect, a medical device may include a shaft including a distal tip with a distal-facing surface. The shaft also may include a fluid lumen extending to the distal tip and a nozzle at a distal end of the fluid lumen. The nozzle may be configured to emit a fluid jet from the distal tip. The shaft also may include a vacuum lumen extending to the distal tip and a vacuum chamber at the distal tip. The vacuum lumen may open into the vacuum chamber, and the vacuum chamber may be wider than the vacuum lumen. The shaft may further include a vacuum opening, and the vacuum chamber may open into the vacuum opening. The vacuum opening may be defined by the distal-facing surface of the distal tip.
Device for endoscopic advancement through the small intestine
An apparatus for advancing a device through a gastrointestinal tract. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes first and second grabbing mechanisms adapted to grab and release tissue of the gastrointestinal tract, the first grabbing mechanism being releasably attachable to the device, the second grabbing mechanism being attached to an outer element configured to at least partially surround the device, the first and second grabbing mechanisms being axially movable with respect to each other along the gastrointestinal tract; and a radially expandable blocking element disposed proximal to the first grabbing mechanism and movable with the first grabbing mechanism with respect to the second grabbing mechanism, the blocking element being adapted to move tissue of the intestinal tract with respect to the second grabbing mechanism when the blocking element is moved toward the second grabbing mechanism. The invention also includes corresponding methods.
Instrumentation and surgical method for image-guided microendoscopic decompression
Instrumentation for microendoscopic surgery comprises a retractor system including a navigated initial probe, nested retractors and a navigated final tubular retractor defining an interior passage extending between a proximal end and a distal working end. A multi-planar navigation marker including a plurality of spaced-apart, radiopaque marker bodies can be mounted to the tubular retractor at a predetermined multi-planar spatial and rotational relation to the distal working end. The retractor can optionally include systems for fluid irrigation and suction with differential activation allows for the option of maintaining a dry surgical field or a submerged surgical field depending on the surgeon's preference during various portions of the procedure. The instrumentation can also include a camera for direct viewing and navigated burrs and/or navigated osteotomes, which allow the surgeon to use direct visualization and/or information from instrument localization on multi-planar images depending on surgeon facility resources.
PORTABLE ENDOSCOPE WITH STEERABLE CANNULA
A handheld endoscope has a disposable, single-use portion that includes a fluid hub, cannula, distal tip and is steerable by the operator though actuation of one or two levers. The endoscope also includes multiple-use portion that has a handle and display module. The distal tip includes LED illumination and an imaging module that feeds live video to the display module that is rotatable to allow viewing by the operator and others. The single-use and multiple-use portions mate and un-mate with each other via physically separated mechanical and electrical connectors. The component of the endoscope can be supplied to users in different combinations of pre-assembled configurations, some in a sterile package. The single use portion can include grasper device that can be actuated by an operator using an actuation tab.
Endoscopic Attachment, Cap for Endoscope and Endoscopic System
An endoscopic attachment and an endoscopic system are provided. The endoscopic attachment includes a proximal portion configured to be coupled to an insertion tube of the endoscope; and a distal portion coupled to the proximal portion and extending forwardly from the proximal portion to a forward edge. The distal portion includes a first axial segment that extends from the proximal portion axially to the forward edge by a first axial length, defines a passage, and extends circumferentially entirely around an axis of the passage; and a second axial segment that extends a second axial length from the first axial segment to the forward edge, and extends circumferentially around the axis of the proximal portion less than 360 degrees over at least part of the second axial length. The endoscopic attachment allows for tissues to be cut more efficiently and/or effectively during ESD, POEM and other procedures.

Endoscopic tool for facilitating injection of a fluid into a submucosal layer of tissue
An endoscopic tool for facilitating injection of fluid into a submucosal layer of tissue includes a first cannula, a second cannula, and means for attaching the first cannula to a mucosal layer of tissue. The first cannula has a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end. The second cannula is adapted to be coupled to a source of fluid and carries a needle at a distal end thereof. The means for attaching the first cannula to the mucosal layer draws the mucosal layer, which enlarges the submucosal layer. Fluid is then injected into the enlarged portion of the submucosal layer via the needle, thereby creating a raised portion of tissue around the injection site.
Systems and methods for collecting and screening of pancreatic secretions
Disclosed here are systems and methods for collecting and/or screening of a pancreatic secretion, using a capsule endoscope comprising an imaging system and a trypsin sensor, and a tether coupled to the capsule endoscope.
Surgical system
A surgical system includes an overtube, a sheathing tube, a syringe, a tube, an inner needle, and a storage case that has individual storage parts for individually storing the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, and the inner needle, respectively. The storage case fixes a first instrument, which is any one of the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, or the inner needle, to the individual storage part corresponding to the first instrument by using at least one of second instruments which are other instruments stored in the individual storage parts.
