The cable includes an elongated covering and an elongated component configured to be concentrically engaged with the elongated covering. A securing member is used to bind and to secure the elongated covering and the elongated component to one another. The elongated covering includes at least one recess formed on an outer circumferential area of the elongated covering on which the securing member binds and secures the elongated covering. The securing member has a portion that sinks in the at least one recess and secures the elongated covering and the elongated component that is exposed through the at least one recess.
ENDOSCOPE WITH MULTIDIRECTIONAL EXTENDIBLE ARMS AND TOOL WITH INTEGRATED IMAGE CAPTURE FOR USE THEREWITH
An endoscope and methods of use thereof is provided with at least one multi-functional, multi-directional arm supporting a plurality of imaging, lighting and other sensory elements. The multi-functional arms provide a mounting platform upon which cameras, lights and sensors may be mounted to generate multiple-angled images and video, arena-like lighting and other data relevant to performing a diagnostic or MIS procedure. The multi-directional arms may be inserted through a single portal in the endoscope and deployed in multiple directions from a single portal once inserted into a body cavity. The pitch, roll, length and curvature of each of the extending arms may be individually or jointly adjusted to create a customized view of an internal space during an endoscopic procedure. The extending arms may also include communication elements to wirelessly transmit the images and other data generated by the sensory elements to a remote computing and display device.
MONITORING SYSTEM INCLUDING MASK REMOVAL AND OXYGEN DESATURATION PERIOD DETECTION
A method of indicating an oxygen desaturation period has been initiated includes detecting an oxygen mask configured to supply oxygen to a patient to saturate the patient, detecting a removal of the oxygen mask from the patient to stop saturation of the patient, initiating a desaturation timer in response the removal of the oxygen mask from the patient, and operating an image display device to display a first running time on a screen of the image display device indicating a desaturation time elapsed from a time of the removal of the mask.
MANIPULATOR SYSTEM
Provided is a manipulator system including: a manipulator provided with an insertion section, a movable section disposed at a distal end of the insertion section, and a drive unit that is disposed at a proximal end of the insertion section and that drives the movable section; an operation input unit with which an operation input to the manipulator is input; a control unit for controlling the drive unit based on the operation input; an endoscope; an overtube having a first channel and a second channel; and a unit for calculating a shifted angle of the endoscope relative to the first channel about a longitudinal axis, wherein, on the basis of the shifted angle, the movable section is rotated relative to the second channel to match the up/down direction of a coordinate system fixed to the endoscope and the up/down direction of a coordinate system fixed to the movable section.
VIDEO NEEDLE SYRINGE
An imaging needle apparatus includes a body, a needle coupled to the body, a probe, and an imager. The needle includes a needle body and a sharp tip. The probe can be exposed from the needle or housed within the needle body according to an operation being performed with the image needle apparatus. The imager is disposed inside of the probe, and includes a plurality of photocells.
Guided endotracheal intubation system
A guided tracheal intubation system using an autonomous modulated light source, outputting modulated illumination at a constant level, and externally applied to the subject's larynx region. An optical imaging system receives a video stream from within the subject's throat, including modulated illumination from the subject's trachea. A display control system performs signal processing on the modulated content of the images, and outputs frames of those images in which the intensity level of illumination from the trachea can be controlled without any need to change the illumination output from the modulated light source. The light source has no connection with the rest of the system, and need contain no more than a battery, a power supply circuit and a light source. It can therefore be of low cost and can be made disposable, such as in the form of an adhesive patch applied to the subject's neck.
Signal conducting device for concurrent power and data transfer to and from un-wired sensors attached to a medical device
A medical device system for concurrent power and data transfer comprises an elongated conductive member. At least a portion of the elongated conductive member is configured for insertion within an intraluminal space. One or more sensors that are in electrical connection with the elongated conductive member. The medical device system uniquely allocates each of the plurality of unique contiguous segments within a signal space to one of (i) one or more power channels or (ii) one or more signal channels. The medical device system then sends the electrical signals, via the elongated conductive member, to one or more sensors that are in electrical connection with the elongated conductive member. The medical device harvests energy from the electrical signals. The medical device system isolates transmitted data signals within at least one of the one or more signal channels the data signals generated by the one or more sensors.
CAPSULE ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM, CAPSULE ENDOSCOPE, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD OF CAPSULE ENDOSCOPE, AND PROGRAM
A capsule endoscope system includes a capsule endoscope and a receiving device. The capsule endoscope outputs execution command at a timing at which work instruction data is received when movement speed is low, and outputs the execution command at a timing at which output of the execution command is instructed when the movement speed is high. The receiving device generates the work execution condition data and the work instruction data based on operations of an operator, and transmits the work execution condition data and the work instruction data to the capsule endoscope.
ENDOSCOPE AND ENDOSCOPE SHEATH WITH DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC INTERFACES
A removable and replaceable sheath may be coupled to a medical instrument used during a procedure, and may enable one or more functional features of the medical instrument while maintaining a sterile barrier between the instrument itself and the treatment site. The sheath may be replaced prior to a subsequent use, and sterilization of the medical instrument is not required due to the sterile barrier. Sheaths may include an embedded memory that stores procedure configurations and procedure results, longitudinal channels for delivering power or irrigation, optical elements for providing procedure specific endoscopic views, and other features. One sheath may be fitted to an endoscope for imaging and tissue ablation. Another sheath includes a balloon usable during sinuplasty procedures. Yet another sheath may be fitted to a sonic ablation instrument to provide improved transmission of sonic power to tissue.
