A catheter that comprises a catheter configured for housing at least a portion of a catheter configured for insertion into a body lumen in proximity of a targeted anatomical site and having an imager at a distal end thereof and an adjustable chamber configured for covering the imager. The catheter is configured for introducing a wave conductive medium to the adjustable chamber to increase wave conductivity between the targeted anatomical site and the imager.

Devices, Systems, and Methods for Positioning an Elongate Member within a Body Lumen

The present disclosure relates generally to positioning elongate members at a target site within a body lumen, such as for acquiring a biopsy from a peripheral airway. Some embodiments are particularly directed to an elongate member with an embedded transducer positioned at a predefined rotational angle with respect to a projected position of an instrument extended out of a distal opening of a first lumen in the elongate member. In many such embodiments, a rotational transducer may be positioned within a second lumen in the elongate member to generate a radial image including indicia of the embedded transducer. Accordingly, an operator may determine a projected position of the instrument prior to extending the instrument out of the lumen. In several embodiments, the embedded transducer may include a forward imaging transducer, such as a fiber optic.

Insertion assist system

An insertion assist system includes a guide member and a shift member. The guide member brings an outside bend of a peripheral surface of an insertion body into contact with a guide surface of the guide member. The shift member shifts a direction of the distal end of the insertion body. The shift member comes into contact with an inside bend of the peripheral surface of the insertion body when the insertion body is bent. The shift member bends the insertion body toward the guide surface about the guide surface as a fulcrum when the shift member comes into contact with the inside bend and bends the insertion body.

Embodiments relate to surgical systems and methods. The system includes a main assembly having an IMU subsystem, camera, scope head assembly, and processor. Processor processes images and IMU information, including determining whether images include a distal end of the scope head assembly and a cannulation target. Responsive to a determination that images include the distal end of the scope head assembly, the processor generates 3-dimensional position of distal end of the scope head assembly. When images are determined to include the cannulation target, the processor generates 3-dimensional positions of the cannulation target. Processor also generates predictions of one or more real-time trajectory paths for the distal end of the scope head assembly to cannulate the cannulation target.
