An optical device including a positioning module, a multi-band light-source module, a tracking and locking module, a monitoring module and a control module is disclosed. The positioning module positions eyes according to their characteristics. The multi-band light source module is coupled to the positioning module. After the positioning module positions eyes, the multi-band light-source module emits multi-band light to eyes. The tracking and locking module tracks and locks eyes and provides first information including whether eyes are locked. The monitoring module monitors eyes and provides second information including whether eyes are emitted by the multi-band light for a default time. The control module is coupled to the tracking and locking module, the monitoring module and the multi-band light-source module to generate a control signal according to the first information and the second information to control the multi-band light-source module to continuously or stop emitting the multi-band light to eyes.

Methods for identifying indications for testing for Lyme related infection are described. A subject, presenting a sudden onset of at least one visual symptom known to be associated with Lyme related infection, may be screened for peri-papillary ischemia and, if peri-papillary ischemia is present, the subject may be recommended to undergo further testing for Lyme related infection.

OPHTHALMIC EXAMINATION AND DISEASE MANAGEMENT WITH MULTIPLE ILLUMINATION MODALITIES

Imaging various regions of the eye is important for both clinical diagnostic and treatment purposes as well as for scientific research. Diagnosis of a number of clinical conditions relies on imaging of the various tissues of the eye. The subject technology describes a method and apparatus for imaging of the back and/or front of the eye using multiple illumination modalities, which permits the collection of one or more of reflectance, spectroscopic, fluorescence, and laser speckle contrast images.

Predicting a non perfusion area. An enhancement image processing section performs enhancement image processing on a fundus image of a subject eye to enhance vascular portions (304). A prediction processing section predicts a non perfusion area in the fundus image that has been subjected to the enhancement image processing (306 to 312). A generation section generates a non perfusion area candidate image (314).

ASSEMBLY COMPRISING AN OCT DEVICE FOR ASCERTAINING A 3D RECONSTRUCTION OF AN OBJECT REGION VOLUME, COMPUTER PROGRAM, AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR SAME

The invention relates to an arrangement 10 with an OCT device 20 for scanning an object region volume 22 arranged in an object region 18 with an OCT scanning beam 21, comprising an item 24 which has a section 84 that is arrangeable in the object region 18 and is localizable in the object region volume 22 by means of the OCT device 20, and having a computing unit 60 connected to the OCT device 20 and having a computer program for determining a 3-D reconstruction of the object region volume 22 and determining the location of the portion of the object 24 in the object region volume 22 by processing OCT scan information obtained with the OCT device 20 by scanning the object region volume 22. According to the invention, the computer program has a calculation routine for determining a target area in the 3-D reconstruction of the object region volume 22, which routine determines a reference variable for the object 24 for the target area. The computer program contains a path planning routine that uses a criterion to calculate an optimal path for object 24 to the target spatial position, the criterion being a shadow measure that quantifies the occurrence of shadows caused by object 24 in the calculated 3-D reconstruction. The invention also relates to a computer program and a method for determining a 3-D reconstruction of an object region volume 22 in an object region 18.

SWIVEL HOSE COUPLING WITH OUTER GRIP

A water hose coupling having a swivel grip is provided. A first coupling portion with a male threaded end integral with a first larger diameter base is connected to a second coupling portion through a freely rotating connection. The second coupling portion includes a second larger diameter base. The second coupling portion further includes a coupling protrusion integral with the second larger diameter base. The coupling protrusion may have one or more barbs to interface with a hose or a threaded female coupling to interface with a male threaded connector. The coupling is connected to an end of a hose to which accessories may be attached. An outer sleeve is connected to the first larger diameter base of the first coupling portion and can freely rotate with the first coupling portion around the remainder of the apparatus and hose. The outer sleeve acts as an ergonomic grip for users to hold and rotate when using the hose and installing accessories.

OPHTHALMIC IMAGING WITH K-MIRROR SCANNING, EFFICIENT INTERFEROMETRY, AND PUPIL ALIGNMENT THROUGH SPATIAL FREQUENCY ANALYSIS

Various techniques for providing a low-cost ophthalmic imaging system, such an OCT or fundus imagers are presented. Cost is reduced by using a K-minor as a scanning component. The K-mirror is positioned at a retina conjugate. A beam splitter is positioned at the pupil conjugate and may be used to provide pupil splitting functionality. The beam splitter's shape and area conform to the focal light footprint of an illumination source such that it spans only a fraction of a collection window. 2D FFT is applied to capture spectra for purposes of selectively removing complex conjugate components and for extracting patient pupil to system collection pupil alignment. Consequently, pupil alignment is achieved by use of captured OCT data without the need for additional pupil cameras.
