MOWER-CONDITIONER MACHINE FOR SENSING MOISTURE CONTENT OF CROP MATERIAL

A mower-conditioner machine which includes a frame, a cutter bar connected to the frame, the cutter bar is configured to cut a crop material from a field, and a crop-engaging member connected to the frame. The crop-engaging member is configured to contact the crop material. The mower-conditioner machine also includes at least one moisture sensor connected to the crop-engaging member. The at least one moisture sensor is configured to sense a moisture content of the crop material.

MOWER-CONDITIONER MACHINE WITH SENSING OF CROP YIELD

An agricultural assembly for controllably harvesting a forage crop material, includes: an agricultural work vehicle; a mower-conditioner machine coupled with the agricultural work vehicle, the mower-conditioner machine including a crop-engaging device configured for engaging with the forage crop material; a control system operatively coupled with the agricultural work vehicle and the mower-conditioner machine, the control system including: a yield sensor configured for detecting an operative parameter associated with the crop-engaging device when the forage crop material engages the crop-engaging device and thereby for outputting an operative parameter signal associated with the operative parameter; a controller operatively coupled with the yield sensor and configured for receiving the operative parameter signal and for determining a forage crop material yield based at least in part on the operative parameter signal.

CUTTER IMPLEMENT WITH CURTAIN

The cutter implement may include a housing, a cutter, and a curtain. The housing has a forward end for engaging the crop material when moving in a direction of operation. The housing at least partially defines a cutting region disposed at the forward end. The cutter is coupled to the housing and can cut the crop material in the cutting region. The curtain is coupled to the forward end of the housing and is positioned forward of the cutter relative to the direction of operation for engaging and leaning the crop material upstream of the cutter. The curtain includes a stiffness control feature operable to control a vertical stiffness of the curtain to provide a variable vertical stiffness that increases with an increase in a bend angle of the curtain rearward relative to the direction of operation.

A mower-conditioner includes first and second conditioning rolls, adjustment assembly, and a linkage. The adjustment assembly includes a first member having a first helical surface and a second member having a second helical surface in contact with each other. The linkage is coupled between the at least one adjustment assembly and the first conditioning roll. The rotation of the at least one adjustment assembly about a pivot axis causes the first conditioning roll to move via the linkage, which adjusts the distance between the first and second conditioning rolls.

Segmented corn processing roll

Crop processing rolls for operative use in forage harvesters are formed from independent segments having a plurality of first grooves that are oriented in a parallel manner with second smaller grooves intersecting the ridges to form discrete teeth from the ridges. The ridges can be formed vertically, horizontally or in a spiraled pattern with the smaller second grooves oriented into a spiraled pattern to form the discrete teeth. Crop processing roll segments can be formed in this manner and assembled into full processing rolls with the spiraled second grooves being oriented in opposing directions from adjacent segments. The number of segments can vary from two to eight individual segments with the second grooves breaking ridges into discrete teeth on adjacent segments forming a chevron pattern at intersecting positions along the longitudinal length of the processing roll.
