The 90? hybrid coupler includes a coupling section, a first input transmission line that is coupled to the coupling section, a second input transmission line that is coupled to the coupling section, a first output transmission line that is coupled to the coupling section and a second output transmission line that is coupled to the coupling section. The first quarter wavelength conductive stub is coupled to the second output transmission line.
DEMULTIPLEXER/MULTIPLEXER, ANTENNA DEVICE, AND FADING ELIMINATION METHOD
A demultiplexer/multiplexer includes an input terminal, which receives input signals from respective phases of a quadrifilar helix antenna; phase shifter/separator/mixers, which alternately phase-shift right-handed and left-handed circularly polarized waves of the input signals, respectively, by 90/90 to produce phase-shifted waves to be combined in an inphase combination; phase shifter/mixers, which receive the left-handed or right-handed circularly polarized waves from the phase shifter/separator/mixers, and phase-shift one of the left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized waves by 180/180 to produce a phase-shifted wave to be combined with the other of the left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized waves in an antiphase combination; a variable phase shifter, which adjusts an output signal from the phase shifter/mixers by a phase-shift amount that is received in advance; and an output terminal, which outputs an output signal from the variable phase shifter and the other output signal that is not input to the variable phase shifter.
STRUCTURE WITH INTEGRATED METALLIC WAVEGUIDE
A structure can include a first element and a carrier bonded to the first element along an interface. A waveguide can be defined at least in part along the interface between the first element and the carrier. The waveguide can comprise an effectively closed metallic channel and a dielectric material within the effectively closed metallic channel, as viewed from a side cross-section of the structure. Various millimeter-wave or sub-terahertz components or circuit structures can also be created based on the waveguide structures disclosed herein.

HOLOGRAPHIC MODE CONVERSION FOR TRANSMISSION LINES
The present disclosure provides systems and methods associated with mode conversion for electromagnetic field modification. A mode converting structure (holographic metamaterial) is formed with a distribution of dielectric constants chosen to convert an electromagnetic radiation pattern from a first mode to a second mode to attain a target electromagnetic radiation pattern that is different from the input electromagnetic radiation pattern. A solution to a holographic equation provides a sufficiently accurate approximation of a distribution of dielectric constants that can be used to form a mode converting device for use with one or more transmission lines, such as waveguides. One or more optimization algorithms can be used to improve the efficiency of the mode conversion.
