Electrical wiring devices with screwless connection terminals

Electrical wiring devices that incorporate clamp-type wire terminal connections are described. The electrical wiring devices include for example, single and duplex blade-type electrical receptacles, blade-type locking electrical receptacles, single or multi-pole electrical switches, combination switches and blade-type receptacles, blade-type plugs for electrical cords and blade-type connectors for electrical cords. The electrical wiring devices include a plurality of contact assemblies. Each contact assembly includes a wire terminal and a plunger.

The invention relates to an electric conductor connection element with a contact part and a contact spring which has a base part that is supported against a counter bearing and a clamping part that can be elastically deflected, is angled relative to the base part, and together with the contact part forms a clamping opening for an electric conductor. The invention is characterized in that the base part of the contact spring is releasably held on the contact part in that the base part has two support zones which engage on the contact part from opposite sides in positions at different distances to the clamping part.

A terminal block with an anti-misoperation structure and its connecting terminal module are provided. An insulating base of the terminal block includes a cavity, two fixed blocks, and two wiring grooves. The connecting terminal module is positioned within the cavity. The connecting terminal module includes a fixed terminal, two pivotable terminals, and an anti-misoperation structure. The fixed terminal includes a horizontal plate and two upright plates. The pivotable terminal abuts against the fixed block and has a pivotable piece that blocks between the wiring groove and the cavity, along with a stop piece corresponding to the pivotable piece. The stop piece has a latch portion engaged with the pivotable piece. The anti-misoperation structure includes a resisting protrusion extending from the pivotable piece. When the pivotable piece is engaged with the latch portion, the resisting protrusion abuts against a side of the latch portion away from the stop piece.
