An electrical connector includes an insulative connector housing including a longitudinal bottom wall defining a plurality of contact openings for receiving a plurality of contacts, first and second side walls extending upwardly from the bottom wall at opposing sides thereof, first and second end walls extending upwardly from the bottom wall at opposing ends thereof, first and second pairs of latch openings at opposing ends of the bottom wall, and first and second protrusions extending upwardly from the bottom wall and disposed between respective first and second pairs of latch openings. Each latch opening extends through the bottom wall and through a side wall and is configured to allow a latch to eject a mating connector by moving within the opening Each of the protrusions is configured to engage a corresponding opening in a latch of a mating connector cover or strain relief assembled to the electrical connector.

Communication plug with improved crosstalk

A communication plug having a plug body and a plurality of contact pairs at least partially within the plug body, the contact pairs including an inherent asymmetric coupling between individual contacts of one of the contact pairs and other individual contacts of another of the contact pairs. Second asymmetric coupling elements are connected between the individual contacts of one of the contact pairs and the other individual contacts of another of the contact pairs. The second asymmetric coupling elements, when combined with the inherent asymmetric coupling, provide a balanced symmetric coupling between the individual contacts of one of the contact pairs and the other individual contacts of another of the contact pairs.

Peg press-fitting structure for connector
09590328 · 2017-03-07 · ·

A peg press-fitting structure for a connector includes a peg which is made from a metal plate to fix a housing of the connector to a circuit board, and which is attached to the housing by being press-fitted from the distal end of the peg into a peg attaching slot of the housing of the connector. The housing is provided with an end wall where an entrance of the peg attaching slot opens. A press-fitting position regulating projection, which regulates the press-fitting position of the peg by abutting against the end wall of the housing where the entrance of the peg attaching slot opens, is provided closer to the base end of the peg than a press-fitted portion of the peg that is press-fitted into the peg attaching slot.

Multi-pole cable connection and method for producing a multi-pole cable connection

A method for producing a multi-pole cable connection includes disposing a plurality of contact elements in respective openings of a carrier element. A free end of each contact element protrudes from the respective openings and projects from a surface of the carrier element. The method also includes applying a flat sealing element to the carrier element so as to guide the sealing element over the free ends of the contact elements projecting from the surface of the carrier element, pressing the scaling element onto the surface of the carrier element. The method includes forming a contact of a plurality of conductors of a cable and the contact elements. The conductors are clamped onto the contact elements. The method also includes coating the contact with a potting material to form a component composite.
