"8"-SHAPED ELASTIC CONTACT ELEMENT AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR USING SAID CONTACT ELEMENT

Disclosed are an “8”-shaped elastic contact element and an electrical connector using the contact element. The “8”-shaped elastic contact element comprises two contact parts in conductive contact with two corresponding connectors respectively and a connecting part (12) located between the two contact parts, the elastic contact element is formed by ending a strip-shaped conductive material, a fracture is formed between the two ends of the conductive material, the contact parts and the connecting part are arranged in an “8” shape, and each contact part has at least one arc-shaped contact structure which is bulged towards the periphery. Each bent part of the “8” shape of the elastic contact element forms a bending deformation structure to disperse the deformation process, thereby prolonging the servide life of the elastic contact element, and the elastic contact element, which is only formed by simple arcs, does not have a special requirement for materials.

When the cylindrical part (51) is sandwiched between a first pin (11) and an intermediate member (13) of the corresponding contact unit (10), the waterproof elastic member (50) seals between the first pin (11) and the intermediate member (13) in a watertight manner while allowing the contact unit (10) to penetrate. The waterproof elastic member (50) includes, between the cylindrical parts (51) that are adjacent to each other, a water-shielding structure (52) for preventing the first pins (11) of the contact units (10) corresponding to the adjacent cylindrical parts from being electrically connected due to presence of water between the first pins (11).

The first optical connector is attached to an electronic device, and corresponds to a receptacle. The second optical connector is attached to an end an optical cable, is fittable to the first optical connector, and corresponds to a plug. The first lock member is attached to the electronic device at a position corresponding to the first optical connector not to prevent fitting of the second optical connector to the first optical connector. The second lock member is attached to the optical cable at a position corresponding to the second optical connector not to prevent fitting of the second optical connector to the first optical connector. The second lock member is fittable to the first lock member in a state of fitting between the first optical connector and the first optical connector.
