A system and method for providing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection for a removable component through a retractable EMC protection apparatus. The EMC protection apparatus includes an actuation pin, a stabilizing bracket, an actuation arm, a spring brace, an arm spring, a second stabilizing bracket, a rounded pin, an angled engagement feature, an enclosure opening, a conductive surface, a protection device spring, and a retractable EMC protection device. The actuation pin is configured to engage upon a surface of an end product upon insertion of the removable component into the end product. The activation arm is configured to simultaneously compress the arm spring against the stop brace and to push on the angled engagement feature. The angled engagement feature is configured to push in a downward direction on the conductive surface to seal an enclosure opening of the removable component with the retractable EMC protection device.

A magnetic connector assembly has a female connector with spring-loaded conductive pins slightly protruding inside a recess or cavity in the female connector's body. A corresponding male connector has a protrusion on its body with conductive pins slightly indented into the protrusion's surface. The protrusion on the male connector is sized and shaped to fit into the cavity in the female connector such that the male connector's pins engage the pins of the female connector, allowing for electrical communication across the connector assembly. Magnets on the male and female connectors secure them in a correct orientation. A unique shape ensures proper alignment of the pins and prevents the connection of incompatible devices.

An end of the second conductive terminal is located in the upper chamber and another end protrudes out of a bottom of the insulation base. The insulation base has at least one first groove lower than an imaginary datum plan and at least one platform higher than the imaginary datum plane and coaxial with the first groove. By the first groove and the platform, the creepage distance is increased.

In a vibration circumstance, a good electrical connection can be maintained and transmission quality of an electrical signal can also be promoted at the same time, which is particularly applicable to a situation of high frequency signal transmission.
