Plug connector slidably inserted into receptacle connector

A plug connector according to the present invention is slidably inserted into a receptacle connector, and includes a signal pin having one side in electrical contact with one side of a signal line of a cable; a shield can electrically spaced apart from the signal pin and surrounding the signal pin such that a lower surface of the other side of the signal pin is exposed; a first insulating member coupled to the signal pin to insulate the signal pin and the shield can from each other; and a plug shell surrounding the shield can such that the lower surface of the other side of the signal pin is exposed.

Electrical connector assembly

A plug connector adapted for connecting corresponding wires includes an insulative body integrally formed with two rows of plug contacts in a lateral direction and a transverse bar. The plug contacts are categorized with differential-pair contacts and grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other in a longitudinal direction. The transverse bar extends along the longitudinal direction perpendicular to the lateral direction and is unitarily linked to rear ends of all the grounding contacts of each row of plug contacts while being isolated from the differential-pair contacts. All the contacts and the transverse bar are stamped from a same sheet metal initially, and the differential-pair contacts are successively disconnected from the transverse bar after the plug contacts are integrally formed with the insulative body.

Electrical connector having a mating connector interface

An electrical connector includes a housing having a base with signal and ground contact openings therethrough and contact modules coupled to the base. Each contact module includes a dielectric holder holding signal contacts having mating portions received in corresponding signal contact openings and extending into a chamber for mating with a mating electrical connector. A ground shield is coupled to the dielectric holder having a plurality of rails. At least two of the rails have ground hoods extending forward of the mating end of the dielectric holder along the mating portions of the signal contacts. The ground hoods are received in corresponding ground contact openings and extend into the chamber for mating with the mating electrical connector.

CONTACT MODULE FOR A HEADER ASSEMBLY

A header assembly includes a header housing and contact modules coupled to the header housing each having a frame assembly with a signal leadframe and a dielectric frame. The dielectric frame includes mating portion extensions at a front of the dielectric frame. The signal leadframe includes mating portions extending forward from the mating portion extensions. Each contact module includes a ground shield having ground shrouds providing electrical shielding for the mating portions. Each ground shroud includes shroud walls forming a shroud cavity receiving the corresponding mating portion extension. Each ground shroud includes a shroud transition to vary a depth of the shroud cavity along a length of the ground shroud.

Electrical distributor device, signal transmission system and method of making an electrical distributor device

Embodiments of a high-frequency electrical distributor device may have an input end with a connector of a first connector type, and an output end with at least two connectors of at least one second connector type which is different from the first connector type. Embodiments may further include a distributor region between the connector at the input end and the connector at the output end. The connector at the input end has at least two differential contact element pairs. The distributor region distributes the contact element pairs of the connector at the input end to the connectors at the output end.
